Shirt sponsor

Post by bfccrazy » Wed Apr 01, 2020 10:33 pm

Just thinking of a little project to attempt and I am looking for some ideas.

If any business/object etc would sum up or be great emblazoned across a Burnley shirt, who would you have as a sponsor?

I’m thinking Haffners pies, Bene and Hot or The Miners.

I would say they would turn us down, their turnover doesn't justify the cost - if beer companies no longer do it why would Benedictine

Only big local sponsor who could afford us now is "Tim the decorators".

Ten mill a year is a lot for a one product company, with limited output.

The town council, so we could have BURNLEY emblazoned across the front of the shirt and all over the ground!

Not sure BBC on the shirts is a good idea, too many alternatives to Burnley Borough Council

Not their initials, the name!

If the fans sponsored the club, we could have MIGHTY CLARETS

If we all chip in, "Up The Clarets" could sponsor them. ;)

No shirt sponsor at all would be an even better design.

All these tiny companies are owned by the brewing giants like Diageo,I'm sure they have the resources to sponsor us would be quite good to be sponsored by someone other than an dodgy obscure Chinese bookie.

Ha ha - first five here if you can help find the rest Funkydrummer :D

We've had local sponsors previously but sadly it is always the betting companies now because they are prepared to put the money in.

Premier League gets the tv money because it's global. So, commercial sponsors only work if they are selling globally. So, who are the big local firms that are selling globally and want to be a global name?

I am not comfortable with any sponsorship received from betting companies. I would be happier if my Club had a bit less money but wasn't plugging these firms.

I reckon these would be a good fit for our club and could be a nifty design onto a claret background

Let's have a nice Chinese sponsor, just to rub it in.

The Prince’s trust
(The return of the Royal Clarets)

Uclan own half the town centre... and the season starts (or is meant to) when recruitment to uni is being finalised, term beginning... but we’d have to have the kits early, which never happens.
