Took the plunge and ordered clippers ...........

Mine doesn't grow much but the beard might get a bit out of order because I don't ever touch it myself. Was down to stubble two weeks ago but looking like a beard now.

The wife's had to give in and allow me to trim some of hers at the back of he head this morning, she's about to wash it now so I'm not really looking forward to seeing her after she's dried it. She put the trimmer over my bald head earlie this morning. :o

Board's coming in nicely but it's a bit too white for my liking.

I usually get my hair done with a 0 on the back and sides and a 4 on top, so pretty short. It needed doing so I decided to just keep it simple and gave myself a 1 all over which I immediately regretted, it turns out 10mm on top is actually quite a big difference  At least I barely leave the house these days.

I was due to go to the barbers for hair cut and beard trim last week but that got cancelled.

Took the plunge at weekend and let Mrs W use the clippers on me

The Teams meeting on Monday morning was an eye opener for my colleagues

I had a crack at mine the other day using clippers and scissors and the assistance of the wife for the hard to reach parts. Its turned out ok to be honest, I didn't go mad with the clippers, started with a number 6 and worked down to a 4, but I will have another go with a 3 at the weekend. Remember it grows back, so whats the worse than can happen when we are all stuck in anyway?!

I handed my wife the clippers on Tuesday evening last week. Straight down to number one, all over. I've not had this style for 13 years!

;) I cut my own (what's left) with a number 3 this morning. Had a mishap as on one sweep, the number 3 fixing pinged off and i dug in with the unaltered clippers!

On the bright side...that bit will last longer, before needing a cut!

Just leaving it to grow as long as it gets before the barbers open again. Mine's thin on top and thick everywhere else so it will be hideous.

I first read that as you shaved numbers 0 and 4 into your hair, possibly to celebrate our win over Bournemouth last season - bit like that streaker tackled by Bertie Bee with 2 and 0 on his ar*e 😊

Going back to my Greaser days. Get it back to shoulder length ignoring bald patch on crown and the grey colour.

Mine was about half way down my back in the 70s. I’m thinking that’ll be me again in a few weeks (but a lot, lot greyer).

Hair Cut

Post by Stayingup » Mon Apr 06, 2020 10:31 am

It's getting desperate. I .might even have to ask my Mrs to cur my hair or just shave it all off or look like a caveman. One thing for sure there'll be long queues at the barbers when this lockdown ends.

Always been curious as to whether i'd suit a bald head. Thought this would be as good a time as ever to try it. Unfortunately I look more MVG than Brad Pitt! My advice is not to do it boys, wait for all this to blow over

You can get a decent set of clippers for 30 quid. If you're unsure just start with a number 6, it's only a little shorter than a short back and sides really.

Your going to be waiting weeks

Like suggested get some clippers and give yourself an all over. Once youve done it once or twice you wont go to the barbers and queue again

In 2001 I returned to Motorcycling after giving up the dreaded Cigarettes... I decided also as my hairline was on the receding side, I would invest in some clippers... as Crash Helmets and hair styling don't mix  .

I too started initially on number 6 ... but soon decided once a month and a Number 2 was the way to go. So for the past 19 years been doing my own hair and the wife tidies up around the ears and the back.

In 19 years have visited a hairdresser/barbers twice. Once when my wifes Son got married again, and once when I went on "The Chase"

A decent set of Clippers and accessories can be picked up for the cost of a couple of trips to a Barbers......

Same. Clippers from argos
One all over now. Instead of paying 10 quid a fortnight to the barbers

I was looking forward to growing mine and had visions of a really cool hair do, Paul Weller style or something like that. But I look like Manuel Pellegrini.

Bought some clippers from Argos and let the missus loose. Went ok to be fair. I definitely needed a trim!

Even a hint of hair growing on the top of my head now - only a hint though. As for the beard, a couple more weeks and it will be very Father Christmas like.

My tip is don't just buy the cheapest. The one's that cost a tenner will be cheap rubbish. You can get a decent set for 30/40 quid, after about 5 cuts they've payed for themselves.
