Has this sports void made you really miss it?
I only watch football, so the lack of it is a bit tough, actually quite happy to see tennis and rugby off the screens.
Even happier that the facile slobs on talk sport have to resort to "what's your best ever 11 " as they give the eager callers about five seconds of airtime before the airheaded presenters talk about nothing.
same with the horses, so happy the gambling fraternity have lost the national. Just an excuse thesedays for laddism and yobbery anyway. Same applies here too, no more padding out time with some irish nonentity bookie waffling on about odds from dawn till dusk.
I do feel sorry for the dedicated atheletes who have ploughed everything into training for olympic events, only to have the plug pulled.

So to sum up, you're a bit disappointed that you've lost your football, but it's worth it because it makes you happy that other people are suffering more?

I don't think Wile E Coyote hates other sports. I think he hates other people.

I think it's beautiful, mate. You've made misanthropy an art form. I honestly don't mean that in a nasty way.

Some people may find they can live without it.

Definetely. After waiting all winter for the weather to improve and buying some new clubs not being able to play golf is doing my head in. Supposed to be the Masters next weekend as well, which to me always signifies the start of summer.
Re: Has this sports void made you really miss it?
To a degree yes I'm missing it, especially going on the Turf. To be honest more than that I'm missing not being able to get our weekly walks in, we like to drive further up the dales then get the walking boots on and rucksack out for a good hike, nothing too strenuous for us old uns. We get the walks either from the web or from books. Theirs usually a nice pub or cafe in the vicinity on our way back.

I am coping being at home with Netflix/Amazon Prime/Sky, I have plenty to watch and be able to do as I am still working from home but I do like sport, not just football, but cricket, F1, darts, tennis. At the moment it is OK but in a couple of weeks time I feel I will really begin to miss it.

Looking forward to the Blackburn v Burnley game on Burnley’s YouTube channel tomorrow at 3pm, really enjoyed the last two weeks games. I don’t think I’d mind there being no sport as much if I could go out with family & friends

I can live without the Premier League to be fair, it's more the social side of going to the Turf. I've missed my daughter's junior football way more and worry about my local non-league side.
If cricket isn't on when the weather warms up in May/June I'll be gutted.

Yes, I miss sport.
Most of all, by a long way of course, I miss going to t'Turf.
However, it's not happening so there's nothing lost and a lot to look forward to.

I'm missing my sport even more than I thought I would. Weekend is really hard, the only one consolation is that I can't remember now when it is weekend.
I'm sort of getting used to being in the house every day with no contact with people, other than phone, and I'm doing my daily walks now, but I just wish I could at least come home and watch a game of football or some cricket.

My general disinterest in other sports and my recent disengagement from Football has made this a smooth transition for me.

Re: Has this sports void made you really miss it?
I thought I was managing Ok until I went on YouTube and disappeared down a football wormhole for about 2 hours yesterday afternoon. Now I feel desperate to see a match. Other than bits of rugby league and cricket I don't really watch any other sports but yeah, I really, really miss football both on TV and live.

Re: Has this sports void made you really miss it?
I’ll really miss the cricket this summer and no boxing events. I miss the match day experience more than the game, meeting my mates for beers and food before the game and a few afterwards, it’s the only time we see each other
Re: Has this sports void made you really miss it?
Nah not really. Apart from the match day beer etc with mates, that’s it.
I’ve watched a few clips on youtube and been playing CM 2001/2002 and I miss being a young lad watching football/playing etc. Champs League on ITV, the music a glimpse of Zidane/Ronaldo/Figo. That’s what I miss.

I'm more bothered about the prospect of a summer with no golf or cricket than footy really. I had tickets for a few of Englands games at the Euros as well.

Re: Has this sports void made you really miss it?
Seriously, yes missing going on the match but mentally telling myself that it's just an extended Summer break helps. What would make it unbearable was if this site disappeared. I don't do Twitter etc but frequent this board on a regular basis and despite some of the tedious political carping it keeps me sane knowing that there are so many fellow Clarets out there. When I say sane, well that's always relative.

Re: Has this sports void made you really miss it?
I've taken to watching the NFL on their gamepass app
It's free until end of July and gives me a chance to learn more about the game etc, plus they got every game on there from the last 5 or so seasons.
During a normal season I usually cba staying up late to watch it etc, so this is ideal.
