Bloody hell I've been on the scales.

Post by beddie » Fri Apr 03, 2020 11:13 am

Still doing morning excercise but if I'm honest with myself I'm snacking. After excercise I put the kettle on and stupidly think I've earned a biscuit with my brew, the trouble is it's never one biscuit, I'm even snacking in the afternoon which I've never really done, anyway since being in almost lockdown I've put 1/2 stone on and I'm discusted with myself and determined to stop it. Not easy though but I've got to try as it'll only get worse. How is everyone doing have you managed to keep control of your weight.

I’m 11.3, I’ve always fluctuated between 10.12-11.4 but can shift 3-4 pounds in a few weeks with relative ease.

I’m still training daily and have avoided eating between breakfast and tea meaning I can have a few snacks in an evening without going daft on my calorie intake.

I’m cycling to work everyday and also watching what I eat. I have had a little wobble over the last 2 weeks but I’m back in the game.

02 Sep 19 :- 21 stone 4lbs (and I cycled regularly).
Today :- 16 stone 6lbs.

I want to get to 14 stone and it will happen. Hard work though.

I've lost weight by working from home. There is always sweets and biscuits in our office and I have a very sweet tooth so can never resist. Managed to stay disciplined at home, so far.

Also doing my exercise daily, which I wouldn't always do, especially on winter nights.

I'm at the weight I was aiming to be at the end of January. Two months late but heading in the right direction

I have been more or less the same weight for the last 30 years. Fitter now at 60 than when I was in my 20s.

6 or 7 years ago I was working out big time and I wanted to build up some timber. I was eating loads of chicken, pasta, protein shakes and all that ****. Stood back and took a look at myself and thought, I am just getting fat.

I went back to eating normally and cut out the sweets and lost over a stone in a matter of a few weeks.

Doing all that over eating and taking protein shakes makes a toll on your health, it gave me gout. I was lucky most get diabetes

Lost weight, doing more exercise, drinking less and eating better food than the rubbish when out in the car. Feeling in good shape with the lockdown. Not wasting money on things I don’t need and I’ve a lot to do and keeping busy. Other than the lack of being sociable there’s a lot to like. I can imagine it’s devasting for people who’s lifestyles revolve around eating out, shopping and having to be seen though.

The simple rule for weight is eating more calories than you burn will see you lose weight, and vice versa. The problem with this lockdown is that most of us will be doing less 'natural' exercise than we would do at work walking around an office, factory, etc as well as getting to and from work. So daily exercise is going to be essential for most people. If your exercise is outdoors and along the lines of walking, cycling or running, then use an app like strava to record it and get an idea for how many additional calories your burning. I don't know how accurate it is, but my garmin app tells me I burn 100 calories an hour at rest, so a regular male eating much more than 2,000 calories in a day will soon find they put on weight without additional exercise.

Snap, I’ve lost loads. And the government saying I can only exercise once a dab has actually made he exercise once a day as it’s the only way of getting some fresh air.

With people limiting the amount of times they go to the supermarket won't some subconscious rationing be taking place with people thinking they need food to last a bit longer as well?

I’d like to get down to 12.5 stone (currently 13) so I need a he lockdown to continue for a few weeks yet.

Anything is possible Spijed. Like I said though it all comes down to how many calories your burning and what you're eating. Some people will be really benefiting, but others won't.

Working from home means I'm not wasting time sat in traffic, which means I've got more time to add an extra workout. In just under 2 weeks I've added about 1.5 hours extra exercise a day and lost 2-3lbs. Not just about the weight though because I keep upping the weights, but my jeans are now too baggy.

brilliant effort Pearcey,

i assume there'll be less "little wobbles" as you near your goal.

I'm doing my daily walk and that's probably helping to keep my weight down, might even be lower.

Put on 6lbs since beginning of March, just got into a new relationship at Christmas so there were too much meals out, or ordering pizzas/takeaways etc when she came round. Now everything is fresh, daily exercise so even if I fancy a takeaway at the weekend, hard work anyway with many closing, it isn't so bad due to not eating so much crap during the week.

I'm usually a few pounds over 11 stone in winter than fall to a few pounds under in hotter weather (more salads/more walks etc). I was 11st 1 or 2 lbs at the start of March and got on the scales this morning thinking I wouldve gone up because I'm not getting out walking so often.
I was actually a few ounces under 11 stone. I thought I'd been eating a bit more comfort food as well as exercising less but obviously not so.
I hate queuing so I've largely been shopping in my local convenience store where I can get the basics but not the full range of goodies I usually shop for at big supermarkets- that's obviously having an effect.

I have to follow the same strategy. Over the past 5/6 years, I just dont go down the cake/biscuit aisle at the supermarket. If I did Id be sorely tempted and, if I got them home, Id scoff them all straight away.

Well done mate!
Cycling is great, I've did more miles under lockdown last week than any previous

I've managed to lose 10kg in about 2.5months, keeping my calories at 1500 a day, though I'm allow to go a little over If I do a big ride.
No booze since Jan, perfect timing
Keep it up and keep us updated!

And sorry, here's my Huel referral link, £10 off If anyone wants to try: https://huel.mention-me.com/m/ol/bp2nb-67c6c17c5c

I've found by making one for breakfast (a meal I usually skipped) it adds structure to my meals for the day. Sometimes have one for dinner too, makes lunch extra special, vegetables never tasted better.

First time I've been under 17 stone since we were in the 3rd division, not eating out every day and not eating chips 6 times a week might have something to do with it, not seen a chip for over 2 weeks now, oh well as long as I don't drop below 16 stone all's OK.
