£20m donation to NHS, staff, communities & vulnerable groups
£125m donation to Football & National Leagues
Unlikely any play in May, will restart only when safe
Discussions underway on players wages being reduced by 30%

Seems a fair and reasonable start to me.
Well done, I believe most votes were unanimous ( obviously or they wouldn't be in place )

Is it still 14 of the 20 needed to make things happen?

Jordan Henderson has had a call with all Premier League captains to discuss donating some of the salaries to charities.

Salary cut at BFC and elsewhere?

Post by mdd2 » Fri Apr 03, 2020 11:49 pm

Sorry if already posted but from the Beeb
Premier League clubs will ask players to take a 30% pay cut in order to protect jobs as it was announced the season will not resume until "it is safe and appropriate to do so".
Also
The Premier League will advance £125m to the EFL and National League, and give £20m towards the NHS.

Might be more realistic if they reduced wages to the average of the nurses, doctors, porters, paramedics who really are putting their lives on the line if you read the reports of NHS staff dieing for want of PPE. These genuine heroes buy season and matchday tickets to watch players who in the main earn more in a week then they do in two to three years.
It's ok these players putting videos on line of themselves and partners flicking toilet rolls around and dancing to cheer up the masses but a real humbling gesture really would help.

Will the tax lost by reducing wages by 30% for 3 months be greater or less than the £20m ?

At 47% in the pound our £85 million wage bill if all went to higher rate players and fell 30% would yield about £12 million less so I guess the answer is it would be better to leave them on their gravy train

Not if the money was sent direct from the employer to the NHS .

Put them on an NHS wage? I’ve heard it all now.
