2nd hand car sale

Post by Bfc » Fri Apr 03, 2020 3:56 pm

This is a request on behalf of an elderly friend. I appreciate that it is open to possible abusive comments about the Corona virus.
My friend relies on his car to get about and go care for his housebound elderly sister, who relies on him. They're in their mid 70s. His car has been written off and all the car salesrooms are closed and there doesn't appear to be any car sales in the Bly Express.
Given that, someone on here might have advice to pass on about getting a car, or maybe someone reading this might own one, they're looking to sell for a price of circa £2,000. I will leave his Tel contact No if something comes of this.

Car written off....sell for £2000?

Not sure I comprehend. Might be just me.
I can't help at all, so don't worry about this, if it does make sense.

Good luck to them.

Do yo umean that they're looking to buy for about £2,000?

Either way, I suggest you look at the smaller one-man-band type of garage. They may be shut but have left a contact number, and a one-man band is probably more likely to turn out as a one-off.

I always get cars from Forest Garage Trawden. Might be worth a try. They have a website with a number for urgent assistance.

Have a look at Auto Trader. Plenty for sale, social distancing might be problematic.
Put your postcode in and a few parameters, distance, £2K budget, max age and mileage etc.
Not perfect but it's an option.

My friend is still on the lookout for a car, as the car P-C had, wasn't suitable for him.

Mine was too small (no jokes pls), he's after a 5 door which could fit a wheelchair in the boot, if anyone else can help.

Have you looked into the Motability scheme?
Sounds like you might / may qualify.

https://www.motability.co.uk/

Might be worth a phone call or going through the site.

I'd look around online if I were you. Car sales pitches are on their backsides at the minute and sting people at the best of times

Because of the contact Tel No left on here by Longside 72, my friend has managed to buy a car. Many thanks to all the posters on here, for help and advice. It means a lot to him, knowing he can go and care for his sister again.
