The Lockdown TV Thread
With most of us no doubt watching more TV than we normally would, along with fewer programmes worth watching, I need plenty of record/reminder schedules to fill up.
So a thread for anything that is being shown in the next 7 days, that you think looks good, or is something you've already seen that you'd recommend.
Today
12pm BBC1: Football Focus
2.30pm BBC1: Fifa World Cup Rewind
4pm ITV: The Chase
6pm ITV: The Chase
10.20pm BBC1: Match of the Day (discussing the top 10 goalies of all time)
Anything else on today, or the week ahead to download/schedule/record/watch?
No news
No politics
No arguing/personal insults
And certainly no Covid-19.

Re: The TV Thread - Next 7 Days
Nice one. I think I can actually play Youtube properly now on the TV, via the Xbox. It would be so slow/jumpy if I went straight through my TV.
I've seen the Noughts and Crosses listed, so will give it a go, cheers.

Hope you like repeats, because nothing's being made right now.
Same goes for cinema, the films like Bond and others that were in post production can be released once lockdowns are eased off. But there will a long gap after that where there nothing to fill the void because it hasn't been shot yet.

Re: The TV Thread - Next 7 Days
The Nest - Monday/Tuesday? not too sure but a decent watch. You'd need to catch up a couple of episodes though.
Breeders- black comedy with Martin.Freeman worth a viewing
Sadly, I've watched some daytime TV too and there has been 10 episodes of 'London Kills' with Hugo Speer and Sharon Small that kept.us occupied. Hope some of this is useful.

You're probably right. I think it's something the general population might not have realized though, we're so used to having something new to watch every week.

Just watching the MOTD from last night (discussing the top 10 goalies), with Shearer, Wright and Lineker.
At least it's footy related I guess.

"Mission Declassified" Escape from Alcatraz.
It was on Discovery last night, but am sure you can get on catch up. It's a series, so covers something different next week.

Tried twice to watch The Nest but it is hard to get into something if you don't like ANY of the characters.
Also - what's with the annoying accents? Can't they just set the same programme in England???

All the classic Ealing comedies on BBC 2. School for scoundrels and titfield thunderbolt... the last two.
Re: The Lockdown TV Thread
That will be the language I think they call “Scottish”CaptainKirk wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 10:55 amTried twice to watch The Nest but it is hard to get into something if you don't like ANY of the characters.

It’s a place just past Carlisle with loads of mountains and alcohol !!
Martin Compton the main character from line of duty is from Glasgow - this is his accent - he puts on an English one for line of duty. I’m assuming a lot of the other actors in The Nest are just Scottish rather than them hiring English actors to go up to film this in Scotland and try and master Scottish accents !!
Their stunning house btw is about 20 miles from Loch Lomond and available for renting !

Re: The Lockdown TV Thread
Watched Last Tango in Halifax and The Stranger both series on Netflix in America. Both were seriously good ( and nostalgic for expats from`t North)

Inside number 9 is great. Can be a little hit and miss but when they hit they’re brilliant.

Yeah. There’s been a little too much bumping into each other and ending up on the same routes at the same time. Still good viewing though. Always enjoy travel programs with a bit of an angle.
I’d like the Asian lads to win, seem like good guys. I reckon the annoying blonde lass and her husband will win though.
