David Icke speaks about Covid-19
This just popped up as a YouTube suggestion. David Icke speaking live on the crisis.
Apparently it was started by a cult which is funded by Bill Gates.
He's currently speaking about how 5G masts are controlling the public's minds through magnetic waves.

All very plausible in a great science fiction novel.

Brilliant, saw them live a good few times, and last year saw Jim Bob solo, Fruit Bat was sat a few seats from us, he reluctantly got on stage to do
one song together.

Good old David.

The chap may be a sandwich short of a picnic but the day when people are not permitted to say what they think is upon us, and that for me is the beginning of the end. Youtube deleting his video goes against freedom of speech don't you think...?
Somewhat akin to being told you cant have an opinion about someone or something on this forum too; just because someone else takes offence and whilst taking offence and typing a reply that is vitriolic and nasty in the process... certainly seems like hypocrisy and double standards.
never mind.

I suppose the issue is that he seems to be encouraging these attacks on mobile phone masts. It's the unregulated nature of social media that allows conspiracy theories to flourish (in my opinion....although governments being dishonest is another key cause). It's a tough one....if we crack down on people who say the earth is flat then they can shout about freedom of speech....but if we don't then we are exposing centuries of scientific progress to limitless damage. I have a deeply autistic son......every time I hear an anti-vaxxer banging on about MMR etc etc I am reminded of the millions of pounds spent on disproving Andrew Wakefields claims....money that in a rational world could have gone into researching treatments for autism and care for autistic people. Rant over.Zlatan wrote: ↑Tue Apr 07, 2020 4:00 pmThe chap may be a sandwich short of a picnic but the day when people are not permitted to say what they think is upon us, and that for me is the beginning of the end. One fact I've found is that Willie Carr didn't play in any legs of the final but he his listed as being in the team on your programme.
So it is likely that Wikipedia have it right regarding the goalkeeper spot.

Reading Dazzler's link, and proving that every day is a school day on UTC, I genuinely never knew that Jimmy Hill was the manager of Coventry City, let alone for 6 years. I always had him down as being on the board or the chairman. Interesting!

Re: David Icke speaks about Covid-19
The free speech argument is a misnomer. YouTube removing David Icke or any other conspiracy theorist’s video does not impinge upon their right to free speech in and of itself, it simply presents him from using YouTube as his publisher. He is free, and should be free, to publish and disseminate his thought elsewhere. Social media companies have been reluctant to make moves like this previously because they do not consider themselves publishers: if they are publishers, then they have the legal responsibilities of publishers too and it means they will lose money.

I watched/listened to it for almost 2 hours, mostly, in fact wholly, in disbelief at the sheer lunacy that this guy spouts and as much that he is capable of selling out pretty huge venues at £30 a ticket.HieronymousBoschHobs wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2020 3:03 amThe free speech argument is a misnomer. He stated that 5G masts are designed to control the public's minds (via the Covid-19 vaccine which contains nano-technology in the form of microchips which will enable the public to be monitored from space and controlled via the masts' magnetic waves). This public control will be carried out by an organisation headed up by Bill Gates. Other uses for the masts are to draw oxygen from the air amongst many other powers yet to be revealed (£30 a ticket?).
The issue as I could see with the 'violation of YouTube's Community Guidelines' though was the 'interviewer' repeatedly giving Icke the opportunity to vigorously 'non-condemn' the attacks on masts, with the inference being made pretty clear. He also enthusiastically put the boot into YouTube, maybe also a factor.
As asked above - total fruitcake or savvy businessman? Both maybe.

Re: David Icke speaks about Covid-19
This is the part that really does infuriate me more than anything in modern life. It's one thing to spread untruths, it's quite another to profit from them. See also: Alex Jones The sad thing is that, in my opinion, it's both: total lunacy and profiteering with the beneficiaries seeing one reinforcing the other. The more money they make, the more they think they are justified in their 'message', because they believe people are paying to hear their 'truth' having grown sick of the 'elites'.cricketfield73 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2020 4:43 pmI watched/listened to it for almost 2 hours, mostly, in fact wholly, in disbelief at the sheer lunacy that this guy spouts and as much that he is capable of selling out pretty huge venues at £30 a ticket.

I can keep a lid on it when it comes to normal politics because there's so much spin anyway, but when it comes to something like this, a literal matter of life and death, it does make my blood boil a little. I hate arrogance at the best of the times, but this is essentially someone with an ego, thinking they singularly are brighter and more knowledgeable than hundreds if not thousands of dedicated professionals who have spent their lives studying these issues. Worse still, you can't tell them that, because they are so up their own arses that they think everyone else is just a stooge in on the conspiracy. There is no winning an argument with them.
