Rocky at 33 is the most disgraceful thing I have ever seen !!

We need a thread on the best Rocky film !!

Loads of good films there - Creed and The Fighter not on which were both good.

Love Caddyshack - one of my fave films of any genre

Wimbledon was truly awful !!

Alphabetical order TVC15,Rocky would surely get in most peeps top 10,or even top 5.

Just checked out the Caddyshack cast list,it features a pre-Ghostbusters Bill Murray,i didn't know that fact,

Wimbledon's one i haven't seen, but the reviews have been mixed at best.It does have Kirsten Dunst in it though.

Fire In Babylon and The Edge are new to me even as an avid cricket fan.

Oh I missed that nuance !!

Tin Cup is a really good golf film too.
Caddyshack is that 1980s Animal House type humour.
Chevy Chase and Bill Murray are both in it - and both are comic geniuses.

Liked Damned United too and the both of the Will Ferrell films are good.

The Natural has to be on there.
Lots of good baseball films, but that has to be the best.

Find it strange that coincidentally the top 50 just happen to be in alphabetical order ;)

Seen 21 out of the 50 .... " A League of their own " is a brilliant film, as is " Field of Dreams " ..... both make me cry like a baby at the end !

" Tin Cup " is funny, but not nearly as funny as " Escape to Victory ", watching Sylvester Stallone as a goalkeeper, or looking at the crowd as they pour out of the stadium at the end, clearly wearing Adidas T shirts inside out ... :)

The replacements would be in my top 3 and it's not there. I also enjoy Jimmy grimbles boots, but I guess it was better when city were a lot worse than United. Give it to Gordon.

Major League
Secretariat
42.

42 is the Jackie Robinson film. Must be on the list.
Secretariat was better than Sea Biscuit IMO, and Major League (in spite of copious swearing) is funny as well as realistic. (And filmed in the former home of the Milwaukee Brewers!).

Wimbledon is a very good film, almost entirely because of the presence of the lovely Kirsten Dunst.

I agree with The Replacements, although it is a very similar storyline to Necessary Roughness.
Varsity Blues is another decent American Football movie, but the best by far is Friday Night Lights

Phar Lap, an Australian racehorse is a good show. Same vein as Seabiscuit and Secretariat.

'The Club' About Aussie Rules Footie's worth a watch, probably made mid/late 70's.

GOAL! The official film of the ‘66 World Cup was excellent.
There was a decent film made about the Oxford/Cambridge boat race rivalry and the Oxford coach, Dan Topolski. True Blue.

You've just reminded me of another one TT.

Varsity Blues about a high-school football(American) team in Texas, the cast includes the late Paul Walker of Fast & Furious fame.

No idea if the movie's any good or not, guess it depends on how much you relate to American sport and culture.

Coincidentally it was mentioned higher up and that was what reminded me of the rowing film.
