There’s “ plenty of kit” per se, but plenty of staff and a huge amount of subsidiary demand ie almost every man jack in service ( as opposed to say just icu/hdu/theatre etc) you’ve also got each trust ordering their own kit which caused mayhem early doors . Keeping every unit supplied is the logistical battle .The police need it of course. It’s a remarkable effort that the nhs is holding up at all tbh ,as London were expecting to use more formaldehyde than the Bob Lord ,it shows an almost Battle of Britain like effort from the front liners .TVC15 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 2:52 pmIs he ?
He didn’t say anything this morning other than about using the gown for a shift. No mention at all about any stealing. There isn’t “plenty of kit” either - or else this would not be a daily discussion point and Hancock wouldn’t have said this morning that his hope is that at some point there will be enough PPE for all those that need it.
Would be good at some point if they provide some PPE to the police who are still getting spat on / coughed at by dicks saying they have the virus.

Re: Matt Hancock
For me its not about looking for people to blame or not understanding the size and complexity of the challenge.
My issue on his recent comments is about leadership. He has upset the RCN and the BMA and a lot of its members at the time he needs them onside the most.
The conversation with the professional bodies and lead representatives around health and social care could have been done outside the gaze of the public eye. Im sure it wasn't meant but bringing up the issue the way he did and as part of the daily national update came across to a lot of people as the govt deflecting responsibility and blame
This message could have been done differently and far more positively and as a result got a lot more buy in and support from the people he needs to live and breath his guidelines

Unfortunately too many people are unrealistic because they simply don't understand, or they sadly want to use it has a political point scoring opportunity. The efforts being made are tremendous and I think some of what I read on here insults the very organisations on the ground doing everything they possibly can to arrange distribution to protect frontline staff. There has been an unbelievable amount of misinformation or misunderstanding.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 3:06 pmThis!
Yet you have people like BillyBalfour saying “but they’ve had two months” as though there is loads of this stuff and they just can’t be arsed distributing it.
Demand far outstrips available supply.
It’s an issue the world over yet we look for people to blame!

I definitely agree that the message could and should have been delivered differently and not through the daily updates.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 3:21 pmFor me its not about looking for people to blame or not understanding the size and complexity of the challenge.

Source?AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 2:41 pmHancock’s simply appealing to staff to not steal the kit (which they’ve been rampantly doing since day 1) There’s plenty of kit , but the turnover is understandably huge . Pallets and Pallets of kit in Leeds and a large nw trust ,though it goes down like a cheap pros
I presume you’ve not been out applauding the theiving barstewards (according to you).

You'll look well going round repeating that to NHS staff's faces, Alarge...............
Stay safe

Re: Matt Hancock
He was certainly not suggesting staff are stealing PPE kit which would be a preposterous thing to say.

“Staff RAMPANTLY stealing from day 1”
Wow - you’ve got to wonder how stir crazy some people are to come out with stuff like this.

I hope you are correct, ASG. When Gov or Local Gov suggest they need to establish something, which is not essential to establish, then they have a purpose to head off something at the pass.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 12:36 pmSo only the ones that have opted out or chosen to be freelance because of the benefits that brings both personally and financially.
A bit different to your original alarmist ******** Ian.
It will come out in the wash, so let's hope all is well for the families.

So no source then? Just an unsubstantiated slur against the folk putting their lives on the line to save ours.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 4:11 pmThere’s thieves in every walk of life and as has ever been thus, hospitals are a paradise of paradises for them, most definitely not all staffers but pretty much everyone has been “ doubling up” and some . Hancocks doing what he can tbh .
Classy.

He was just warning them thats all, he can’t do anything more mateDevils_Advocate wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 11:08 amIts the context and the implications towards a group of people working in extreme conditions and putting their health on the line for us.
The NHS has been completely left exposed when it comes to PPE for one of the people responsible for that situation to come out to the country and state we have the PPE but its just that NHS staff are not using it correctly is really poor leadership.
Is my view really blowing this out of proportion?

Warning who exactly and there's plenty more he could have done in terms of getting the warning/message out to the right people without causing such a sh*tstorm across the Health & Social Care sectorBurnley1989 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 4:20 pmHe was just warning them thats all, he can’t do anything more mate
