Were Barnet playing at Underhill when we played them in the cup about 20 years ago? 23 if they were.
Genuinely can’t remember if I ever went to Roker Park. If we played Sunderland between 1990 and them moving to the Stadium of Light, I almost certainly did.

Only 21 for me. I remember going to Scarborough only a matter of weeks after the Wolves fan fell to his death through the roof of the terracing, I think. Warnock was the manager, he brought them up to the fourth division.

I'm a lowly 13, went to a lot of away games in the 90's but most north of luton. Was the previously mentioned Wycombe game where Chris Vinnecombe got badly injured?

35 for me. Qualified for The 92 Club at Feethams back in the 90's. Following Burnley up and down the divisions got me into the low 80's of grounds visited and then the bug got me. I had to complete the set. Some of these grounds had great atmosphere compared to the 'stadiums' they moved to - Stoke, Derby, Coventry, Cardiff. Admittedly some of these old places were real sh*tholes. One of the strangest was Vetch Field with that new stand behind the goal that only went half way along. Another one was The Dell with real chaotic assortment of stands. Brings back some memories.

I have visited a lot less of these grounds than most posters but have seen some different things from most. In the 50s I lived in the midlands and watched Adam Blacklaw play for Scotland schoolboys at Filbert St. Leicester in 1954ish. A few years later in 1959 I went to the County ground Northampton but to watch Frank Typhoon Tyson bowling against the Indian cricket team just before he retired. I was at the Don Valley stadium when Jan Zelezny broke the world javelin record, the javelin ended very close to a tv interviewer near the finish line.
I did visit some of the grounds for football matches, while at uni I watched Uwe Seeler score an injury time winner to knock Cardiff out of the cup winners cup at Ninian Park and, most memorably, I was at Wembley in 1966. A sad visit to an old ground was when Martin Dobson broke his leg in a pre season friendly at Ayresome Park.

In reply to Rowls, I moved to Burnley and went to Burnley Grammar in the early to mid sixties, even taught there for a term. In 1979 I started teaching at Malvern College and have lived in the area ever since. Burnley 0 Hereford 6, what a disaster !!

Played in the band at the old Wembley many times ---not trumpet though.
PLayed football at Roker Park and Ayresome Park way back in the early 1960s before I joined the RAF.
Played football at Underhill, Eton Park, Feethams, PLough Lane and Loakes Park when I was in the RAF and playing for various non-league teams at one level or another.

And it was cheaper paying on the gate in the 3rd division for yourself at milmoor than dragging yourself and the kids halfway across the country to a posh prem ground.
I miss the old BFC days but wouldn't swap it for the pride of being in the top tier and competing and beating the big boys. Time served in the bottom divisions makes you appreciate it all a little bit more even though a bit of the magic has gone . Except for nights like old Trafford and the runs of form we hit. Special times at the bottom and well earned glory at the top.

18 for me....which includes watching Nelson play at Springfield Park, a cup semi at Highbury and 16 Burnley games away from TM...including seeing both the clarets,(twice) and colne dynamos at the old Wembley.

Lots of memories from that list, like Eastville, watching the game from the bar inside with pint in hand then fighting off one of the yokels in the car park after the game who was armed with a wheel brace !

We once got tickets at Eastville and they were in the bar so - then another year we stood out in the open when it rained and I'm sure we were able to shelter under the motorway slip road.
