somebody do the math
Football retruns with two metre separation rule in the grounds. What will our basic gate be based on that? summat to do I suppose. I guess 2,000

Based on each seat being 18 inches wide and each row 2 foot deep I would guess at 1,000 would be allowed. That would be taken up by Corporate plus Dave Burnley, Rocky and CT.kindonesque wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 11:35 amFootball retruns with two metre separation rule in the grounds. Those with loyalty points of 10,000+ might be lucky to see a game next March.
And no I am not American

Diamond shape would cram more in. Would only have to miss 4 seats sideways and one complete row in front and behind.paulatky wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 11:55 amBased on each seat being 18 inches wide and each row 2 foot deep I would guess at 1,000 would be allowed. Plus people from the same household should be able to sit next to each other.

Can we not just rename the games Carabao Cup second round to reduce the numbers

Same household rule would be useful. Average four from the same household sat close up. That makes for a more complex mathematical puzzle

I remember working for Ribble Valley Borough Council back in the day. They had this Chief Exec who had a fixation on all things America. He insisted on referring to autumn as "the fall". Mindya, he was generally a bit of an arse.

She's muscling in like Stern did to Duckworth Lewis. The "Abbott formula" is now renamed the "Patel Abbott formula". Using that I get a total gate allowed of 6.
Or 300,974,345,678.
One of them.

There would have to be a strict entry time for everyone so you did not need to pass anyone else in getting to your seat.kindonesque wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 12:16 pmSame household rule would be useful. All this does is highlight that football with a crowd is not going to return for a very long time and a decision on direct debits needs to be taken very soon. If people wish to donate the direct debit money to the club thats fine but there will be a lot of people who need the money for essentials themselves

Re: somebody do the math
I'd take a stab at 1000 people in attendance working on thev2 metre rule.

Re: somebody do the math
You have to be 2 metres apart from people you don’t live with. I go on with my Dad who I am currently back living with so we could still be sat next to each other. Makes it more complicated.

Re: somebody do the math
Our gate would be zero. You would have to queue 2m apart to get into the ground, file past the closed food and drinks bars, take the seat the steward points you to in the classic organised parking style. No popping to the loo at any point once in your seat, no leaving your seat at half time, leave the ground by individual rows.
So, zero gate.
So, zero gate.

Re: somebody do the math
Players would need to stay two meters apart on the pitch and would need to sanitise the ball after receiving each pass. The goalkeeper would also need to wash his hands every time he handles the ball. Players who head the ball would have to run to the touchline to have their forehead washed.
Players would need to queue to enter and exit the dressing rooms and the team would all be two meters apart from each other coming out of the tunnel.
Only a limited number of people would be allowed to walk down the roads around the ground at any one time. There would have to be Police cordons on the roads with queues to get through them (a bit like queuing for the supermarket).
Fans would need to remain two meters apart to go into the ground (not to mention the bars and the toilets). I can't think of a way round 'walking past someone who has to get up from their seat so that you can get to your seat'.
If shouting, cheering and singing is going to be allowed then the distancing would need to be increased to at least four meters since the airborne virus would project further.
The VAR people would need to be in touch with each other through video conferencing.

Re: somebody do the math
Can you imagine a future where this epidemic situation is commonplace?
Login online via your season ticket so you can take your virtual seat at the game while watching a streamed service. A small speaker attached to every seat, so you can sing and shout down your laptop or phone microphone. At least there will be some kind of atmosphere at the game.
Would probably sound terrible though
