Private Eye
Just sorted out my copies of Private Eye from the last 15 years or so, about 350 copies. Are they worth anything or should I just dump them ?
Re: Private Eye
Check ebay to see what they're going for. I bet on a good day you could get £100 for the job lot; possibly more, but with more hassle and postage, individually.

Re: Private Eye
Thanks David. I have never actually used Ebay but I think it would be quite easy to set up.

Re: Private Eye
When I used to buy it regularly in the 70's, there were regular adverts in them for
people wanting to buy back copies.
It might be worth buying a current copy and having a look.
Good luck with it.

Re: Private Eye
I suggest E-bay to see what they're going for ... I know some of the early ones fetch very good money ! I've just seen 1040 copies from 1968 - 2019, on sale for £500 !
In 1985, Issue 606 was pulled from the Newstands on the morning of publication, following an injunction brought by Cecil Parkinson, as they'd printed the story of his affair with his secretary, who'd given birth to his daughter. I was on the way back from University to Clitheroe that Friday, and picked a copy up at about 7 in the morning at Reading Station. All copies had been removed by the time I'd got to Preston. They reprinted with the offending story omitted, but with a new Cover, showing a picture of Parkinson waving at Mrs Thatcher, saying " It's all right Maggie, I've stopped the B uggers printing it ! ".
I bought the reprint as well, and found them in an old suitcase a few years ago. I sold them as a pair on E-bay for £52, although prices have tumbled since then !!
