Match of Their Day

Post by Pstotto » Sun Apr 12, 2020 9:58 pm

If MOTD were by a Burnley presenter and they chose the Match of Their Day itinerary, I wonder what 3 matches they would pick?

My initial three matches are:

Burnley 4 Spurs 2.

Burnley's 3rd goal by Paterson is in my top 10 of favourite Burnley Pl goals and also I liked Brian Laws and was happy this result vindicated his ethos.

Chelsea 2 Burnley 3.

No words needed.

Burnley 3 Crystal Palace 2

Fantastic end to a ding-dong match.

Agree with

Burnley 1 United 0 2009,plenty of drama,including the penalty save,and Robbie's brilliant winner.

Chelsea 2 Burnley 3,this result set the tone for our most successful season in living memory, for most of us anyway. And their meltdown was funny to watch.

My 3rd i'd nominate.

Burnley 2 Liverpool 0,after the opening day setback at home to Swansea, this performance showed we truly belonged at this level, fantastic defensive display which typified Dyche's Burnley, and 2 cracking goals from Sam and Andre, his 1st at the top table to seal the deal.

Chelsea 2 Burnley 3

For the commentary alone. I’ve tried to find the footage from motd from that day to no avail.

It was something like

Sam Vokes...(pause)...Free header...(pause)...Six Yards Out...(pause)...What did they expect to happen?

It was brilliant

Different point but, is anyone else enjoying these programmes, including the Top 10 ones, better than normal MOTD?
I find it refreshing the comments and anecdotes they are coming out with which is so much better than the usual ten words we normally get.
Also, I saw the Keane Vierra best of enemies recently and really enjoyed that.
