I just wish the contestants weren't primed so much to bang on about their "story". If I hear the two blokes bang on one more time about how much closer they are now or the lad from Yorkshire that likes bullying his sister bemoan that they're not as close as they used to be, I'll flip.

Rob & Jen to win it I hope.

There's only one winner.

It takes all sorts. If I had to take one of the contestants on holiday with me, it would be her.

Jesus h Christ.... are you a massachist?

She is a princess, whinges about everything, sulks if she doesn’t get her own way, belittles people.

I reckon the only way Rob gets through it is by turning his heating aids off most of the time.

Hope the 2 Asian lads win it, always wanting to see new sites, getting up and doing stuff and good morals. If not them then just the mum, who has been brilliant.

Agree with all of this and joked about Rob turning off his hearing aids. To be fair they’re very determined and she’s ruthless so it wouldn’t surprise me if they won.

I’d like the Asian lads to win. And that mum has the patience of a saint but she’s not interested in winning it.

You do wonder why poor Robbieeee has changed so much with her constantly putting him down.

Mother and son to win but the two Asian lads have come across really well.

She’s the only one on the entire program I wouldn’t want to win.

I like him. He seems a good egg and I suspect he just ignores half of what she says. Which usually about how hard done to she is now HE has gone deaf.

I like and can relate to all of them bar her.

If I really had to pick one couple to win it would be Sam and Jo. (Son and mum). But I’ve a sneaky feeling that the brother and sister will.

Don’t think this series is as good as the first. Struggling to root for any of them. Those two blonde women seem to be in competition to be the most ungrateful, whinging , irritating nightmares you’d ever want to be stuck on holiday with, and the other woman’s son is right up there as well. That leaves supporting the two Asian lads by default, though I agree about there constant banging on about how close they’ve become is beginning to grate. The big reveal about the family secret was utterly underwhelming.

I would happily knock the back out of that. However, 2 minutes seems a bit of a challenge.

Loved the first series, this one less so. The constant "x-factor" sob stories are getting tiresome and I don't think there's as much variety culturally travelling across a single continent compared to going from London to Singapore.

The blonde bird is horrible. The way she talks to him id be off in a flash. She needs knockin down a peg or two

I hope mum and son win it. The mum is briliant very down to earth. Her knowledge of the local language is definately key

I'd agree this season hasn't quite been as good as the first somehow. Hoping the mother and son or the Asian lads win.

Don’t mind the blonde one. She left Robbie to do one task and he came back saying the taxi was $5 instead of $50. Then took him 5 mins to decide if he wrote it down or not. It’s hard to judge how people are only on this program. I can see why people think she puts him down a bit. I will stick up for her as well in regards to her life changing. Of course it has. She’s a young woman but now partially a carer for her partner. It might have happened I don’t know. But not enough people with medical conditions let there partners free, they feel stuck and not able to live there own life.

The best one he did was when they arrived knackered at 0600 off an overnight bus and he starts stomping round a city looking for the cheapest digs. She says, "We could still be looking at 2 p.m. at this rate"and he goes, "Yeah, let's set that as a deadline for finding somewhere".

My wife would just have stabbed me there and then in front of the cameras. Which would have made good telly at least.

Well the mother and son barely had any money left so I'll be surprised if they even make it to the end. Would like the Asian lads to win but got a feeling it will be Rob and Jen.

Is that Sam? That’s one of my good mates son. What happened to them? Kept meaning to watch it, but didn’t catch an episode.

Sam and his saintly mother (for putting up with him) dropped out..mainly because of his disregard for the budget and insistence on "luxuries"meaning they ran out of cash.
Had to do a double take on reading this thread to find out someone wanted that vile, draining blonde harridan from Reading to win. Thank goodness the two Asian lads won instead of her and a nice gesture from them to donate half their prize money to charities looking after street kids in Sao Paulo.

Asian lads, actually uncle and nephew.

Prize money of £20,000: £10,000 to charity for street kids in Brazil, £5,000 to another charity. Didn't hear what was done with the remaining £5,000.

The whole thing looked far too stage managed for me - far more than the first series. After 14,000 miles and two month’s travelling, they all end up on the same bus??? Come on...

Yep, fair play to them. The blonde bird from Reading wouldn’t have done that. I’m pleased those 2 won it.

Thanks. My mate told me he was “a lad”. Was NDA’d though, so couldn’t tell me anything about the show.

Really enjoyable show and good finale. A big flaw this series was that on a number of occasions the stage winner didn’t gain an advantage as they got to the bus station early and just ended up waiting around to catch the same bus as the teams who started the stage behind them.

Would like to see a bit more variety in modes of travel, different languages and culture next series.

Really glad the lads won, they seemed like really good guys which they proved by donating the prize money.

Yes, but they’re all at the same location after each stage, albeit leaving at staggered intervals. And as Riley says, sometimes the advantage was negligible if it’s the middle of the night when they’re setting off. They’re all using the same (quite limited, I imagine) public transportation.

Enjoyed it overall but there were flaws - not sure the lads giving the taxi driver their iPod or whatever was in the spirit of budgeting and I thought they were hard on the brother/sister after his seizure. Maybe could have had more leniency re time. Hope next series is more varied, as it started to get a little ‘samey’ as the series wore on, but well worth watching. Deserved winners without a doubt.

It's a shame that they've shown us all the wonderful South American scenery, just at the same time as we can't travel and may not want to travel in future.

Great program. I'd say Series 1 was better than 2. After the popular story of Dad and Lad in series 1, it seemed the producers went looking for a story and kept banging on about the Asian lads re-uniting.

Also series 1 had more varieties of transport. Series 2 was more of a bus race. I preferred seeing Dom and Lizzie hitch hiking and meeting people. Brilliant when they hitch hiked, got invited to a party and Dom nearly pulled the birthday girl.

I can't imagine where series 3 will be? Anyone applying for it?

Agreed too many buses, but this is the problem when the route takes in not often visited places like Patagonia. There was literally only one way they could really go, which is why they all kept meeting up. In some ways, it rendered a lot of the previous racing academic. Dom and Lizzy were a whole day behind at one point yet still finished with a few hours of the winners. Makes for a dramatic finale I guess.

Hoping next series is similar to the first one, so there’s multiple routes on every stage and more varied forms of transport.

Great that the two lads won in the end i must say .
They started off really poorly as made bad choices and spent too much cash but they did really well in the end and so glad they won .
Mrs Blonde was money mad all tears in the end when they lost out .

Like the siblings for using their anisative in hitch hiking, asking around for work and advice etc.

The Asian lads grew into the race after a slow start, were they spent silly money on taxis to get ahead

Mother and Son just enjoyed the experience. Son blew to much on food, if mum had have been able to reign him in they would have been their abouts at the finish

Husband and wife team were incredibly unlucky not to win, they were £40 short of the taxi fare on the last leg, which would have propelled them to victory. Wife would have got on my tits though and wtf was that on her head on the last day
