One World TV tonight

Post by IanMcL » Sun Apr 19, 2020 8:21 pm

I thought Swawn Mendes and Camila Cabello were brilliant tonight.

Then along comes Muck Jaggerxand his Rolling Stones pals!

Mick was exceptional. Gave it everything, despite being at home.

Thanks to all performers.

Watching at the mo and have to say the Stones have been the best thing on it by a country mile...and I'm not really that big a fan. Seemingly immortal !
Edit : Bit worrying that they've selected Green Day's "Wake Me Up When September Ends" as a song appropriate to this programme ...I was hoping to get out before then !!!

Elton John...bloody hell surely that was Vic Reeves wasn't it ? The ultimate case for compulsory retirement.

Tell you what, if Andrea Bocelli can have the camera at a decent angle, why can't my Dad?

In my 36 years, I’ve been fortunate enough to see the Stones three times. They are magnificent.

Got to agree with the elton john comment. I even googled to see if the Internet was awash with similar comments and was astounded to see it wasn't.

Right, I'm off to start a justgiving to raise money to buy Charlie Watts a drum kit. Poor chap.....

The thing is Elton wasn’t the worst.... I raise you Sir Paul McCartney....

Comparing those two to Stevie Wonder and the Stones is embarrassing given they are similar ages

Both McCartney and Elton should have called it a day after the Queen's Golden Jubilee concert when they both stunk the place out. It's sad to see two great talents in such terminal decline. For the first minute I couldn't even work out what McCartney was playing

I enjoyed Stevie Wonder after an iffy start and the Stones too and thought the Michael Buble version of God Only Knows was superb. I guess with Eddy Vedder at the organ it helped if you new the song, which I didn't, but he certainly gave it his all.

Quite an enjoyable evening to say I had to ask my daughter on at least three occasions who the artist singing was.
