It doesn't say we have poor away support and in fact it has us in the top half so above average

It's nothing special these days to be fair. Taking reduced allocations at games in the North West would have been unheard of at one time.

Such lists are meaningless really. The big clubs at the top with no thought given to ratio of attendance for home/away games . Of course Manchester United are going to have better away support than Accrington Stanley. I'm sick of these stupid lists. I agree Leeds away support is top drawer, but the rest of the list is pretty pointless really. I wish the people that compiled this stupid nonsense would stick it up their arses.

Correct, normally taken up by a load on non attenders too.

Although would love to see the ones who decided Leeds were once the "angriest" fans. Suppose to a kid being a gobshite can come across as angry

The poll/list isn't about clubs away attendances, it's about which are the best fans (whatever that means!) voted by other fans. So pretty meaningless really.

Agreed. And what significance is the results from a mere 6,200 supporters who were polled? A survey of 20 fans deciding who has the biggest t!ts between Carol Vorderman or Kate Garraway would be more scientific.

A completely meaningless list - nothing at all to back it up

I definetely wouldn't disagree with Leeds, Newcastle and Sheff Wednesday all being high on the list.

Would we get pictures before we vote?

Maybe it’s the lack of away wins that stops folk spending their money? We can be more than a little defensive when away from home. I don’t have a problem with that, but it’s hardly a great watch at times. Then again, sometimes we are great away, like at Man U. It’s a bit of a puzzle.

Following your team away from home is a day/weekend out with football thrown in. A win is a bonus unless you're some spoilt brat Big 6 supporter.

Won as many away games this season as Man United. Won more than Spurs and Everton. Won twice as many as Arsenal. We're 10th in the away table. Cavalier Norwich prop up that table with 6 points and only 1 win.

We don't have poor away support, we just support a team from one of the smaller towns in English professional football. Our away support is pretty good in general, but is shown up these days because we're in a league with clubs who represent big cities and have a lot of historical success and attract fans not just country wide, but worldwide. I always think a good comparison for our support is to look how many fans a club brings to us. Only the bigger clubs bring more in a regular season than we take there.

I'm not sure about that. I bet this season in the Prem only Bournemouth and maybe Watford have taken less support away than us. We've even taken reduced allocations at places like City and Everton, that would have been unheard of at one time.
But like you say, we're in with some massive, big city clubs. Sheff United and Norwich are taking big followings everywhere because they've just been promoted, the novelty has started to wear off a bit for us.

Makes you wonder what kind of shiny plastic fantastic pretendy fans from “ other clubs” would ever vote Leeds fans “ the best”? almost hilarious to behold

I'm on about comparing what we take to say Brighton to what they'd bring here. It's difficult in the Prem as so many games are moved for TV, so it's not always a fair comparison. Brighton are a good example. Some of their fans seem to think they're this huge club these days. They brought just 750 to Turf Moor last season. This is a place that's treble the size of Burnley and as some of them seem to love telling us doesn't have the socio-economic issues that Burnley has. 750 is **** poor compared to other clubs, their biggest rivals brought 2,000 to the Turf this season at a similar time of year. I doubt Burnley take as little as 750 anywhere in the Prem. I'm not saying it's never happened, but I'd be interested to see if anyone can dig out a Saturday 3pm game in the Prem when we've taken as little as that. Clubs on the crest of a wave often have bigger supports than usual, and we've been there and done that ourselves. I just think sometimes that context is needed based on how small a place Burnley is. When Burnley take 1,500 to a run of the mill away fixture, it would be like Leeds taking 15,000. I can understand ignorant idiots fans of clubs like Leeds thinking our support is poor, but you'd think our own fans would understand why we can't compete away attendance wise with big city clubs that dwarf Burnley for population.

It's not about numbers it's about vocal support and at times it is hard to enthuse about some of our games.

Let's face it, When you've seen all the big clubs play year in, year out it's not surprising that numbers drop off a little.

For example, there won't be the same enthusiasm to go to the Etihad, knowing that we could lose heavily, or going to the Emirates and in all probability lose as well.

We were a bit like Leeds when we were sh-ite and playing in the lower divisions.
When you have got little or nothing to shout about on the pitch then you have to find other ways of enjoying yourself and back in the day it was getting drunk and singing for 90 minutes. In the bottom 2 divisions for many years we were often the “big” club for away followings.

Leeds is a massive one club city with a huge catchment area - when you add to that how most of their fans are still living in the 1980s then it’s gonna make for a decent away following.

The type of people who go to away games has also changed massively for most clubs. You very rarely saw a family, little children or girls / ladies in the 1980s / 90s away games. Now it’s mostly families that make up our away folllowing and many other teams too.
