Re: Michael Robinson
Very sad news, indeed. He learned Spanish and was fluent enough to be a TV presenter. Some achievement that. I remember him playing at TM for PNE in a friendly in the mid-70s. RIP Michael.

Re: Michael Robinson
Such sad news in such sad times. He was a good footballer and went on to become a greatly respected journalist and sports presenter, especially in Spain. RIP Michael Robinson.

Re: Michael Robinson
Remember him playing in the FA Cup Final in '83 against Man Utd. for Brighton. They should have won that game too and the glaring 'miss' near the end became immortalised in the fanzine title.'And Smith must score'.

Re: Michael Robinson
He was indeed a tv presenter on football here in Spain for many years. He was particularly liked by the Spanish tv viewers because he would translate English colloquialisms directly into Spanish, which always sound quirky but amusing to the Spanish. For example, he would say things like "my mother could have scored that chance", which is simply not a Spanish phrase but was loved by the Spanish. RIP Michael

Re: Michael Robinson
Vino, I heard he was very popular because of the way he spoke Spanish when I was passing through Spain once.

Re: Michael Robinson
You're right, quicknick, my Spaniah friends over here used to use "Robinsonisms" when talking about football. He was very popular.

Re: Michael Robinson
Sorry to hear this, played at schoolboys level with him in Blackpool (and George Berry) so was always interested in his career. He has a very good reputation in the Spanish media and was apparently even working for the Liverpool/Atletico game just before the shutdown.
