This is the best case I’ve seen yet for ending lockdown.

It's not Queen. They finished as a band on 24th Nov 1991.....Bosscat wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 11:59 amLoved this just seen it on the news...

As if the lyric change wasn't bad enough, were they really in that much of a rush to produce this that May didn't have time to put some pants on?

Not May & Taylor's finest moment is it,but if BC likes it fair enough

Oh I am very Sorry .... I should have said Queen + Adam Lambert...Claret Till I Die wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 1:01 pmIt's not Queen. They finished as a band on 24th Nov 1991.....
What I was mainly referring to was the fact its raising money for the covid19 carers charities...
Jesus wept
I am in awe of what Captain Tom has done but the song with Michael Ball isn't the greatest musically ... but you don't hear me slagging them off for raising money

I only stated that it wasn't Queen. I wasn't slagging them off and who mentioned Michael Ball ?Bosscat wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 4:58 pmOh I am very Sorry .... I should have said Queen + Adam Lambert...

Get what you mean but 'the show must go on' and I was very much looking forward to seeing Queen + Adam Lambert in Manchester in June (which has understandably been postponed until next year)Claret Till I Die wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 1:01 pmIt's not Queen. Nobody can replace Freddie Mercury, everyone knows that, but Lambert doesn't try to imitate him in any way and is actually an excellent vocalist with a flamboyant style of his own.

I saw Freddie Mercury with Queen and he'll never be replaced in my eyes, no matter how good/poor Adam Lambert is he will never be Freddie. That was my original meaning when I posted and I will stand by thatVintage Claret wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 6:59 pmGet what you mean but 'the show must go on' and I was very much looking forward to seeing Queen + Adam Lambert in Manchester in June (which has understandably been postponed until next year)

Well when Amanda Holden releases the pop video for her charity single 'Over the Rainbow' please keep it to yourself and don't post the damn thing on here - charity or no charity!!!Bosscat wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 4:58 pmOh I am very Sorry .... I should have said Queen + Adam Lambert...

Wouldn't argue with that and I did say nobody can replace Freddie Mercury.Claret Till I Die wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 7:45 pmI saw Freddie Mercury with Queen and he'll never be replaced in my eyes, no matter how good/poor Adam Lambert is he will never be Freddie. Thing is, as great as Freddie was, there were 3 other guys who weren't bad at what they did and made Queen the band they were.
John Deacon decided to retire from public life, fair enough, his choice, but why can't old and new fans still enjoy the brilliance of Brian May and Roger Taylor if they want to carry on the Queen legacy?
They've chosen Adam Lambert to help them do that and if they think he's a good fit for what they want to do now that's good enough for me.

I don’t like Adam Lambert. Such a shame it wasn’t Marc Martel in that position, although no one will ever, EVER replace Mercury.

Listen to Martel and then tell me that he doesn’t absolutely knock spots off Lambert. Ps, he’s not a Freddie impersonator; his natural voice is very similar, although there are a few Mercuryisms thrown in.

Now't wrong with that, the lad can sing and they can play and if it gets a bit of cash for a worthy cause, good on them.

Never heard of Martel until now but from that clip yeah he's a great singer but maybe the problem is he sounds a little too much like Freddie?jdrobbo wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 9:38 pmListen to Martel and then tell me that he doesn’t absolutely knock spots off Lambert. I'm only guessing but I think May and Taylor must have been aware of him and considered him amongst many others
Maybe they were keen to avoid becoming almost another Queen tribute band and wanted someone who could front the band without being a Freddie sound-alike.

It's ok and if it makes some frontline workers feel valued and as has been mentioned raises some cash fair play.
