He will have told his mates or family where he was going, most aren’t stupid enough to get caught.

We’ve all done it! I made a wedge when Laws was appointed, one of his family couldn’t keep their mouth shut.

Same, around another premier league transfer through somebody that was under the sane agent. Think max bet was £50 but there’s was loads of people made cash on thatDanieljwaterhouse wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 4:51 pmWe’ve all done it! Perhaps it was the excitement that got to him and he spilt the beans too early.
Others rather than him directly, capitalising.
If he has personally bet on himself, then he truly is a right nana!

If he told his family in advance that that is where he was going, and one of them told a friend, and that friend cashed in, do you think Trippier deserves a life ban?

An ex player came in the pub once and told everyone which new manager was getting appointed a day early.
Everyone had tenners on with different bookies.

Re: Kieran Trippier in trouble
Let's see what happens at his hearing, there's 2 sides to every story,so let's not hang the lad out to dry before he's had a chance to mount his defence, typical reaction on here, string them up before they've been found guilty.

Re: Kieran Trippier in trouble
I may be wrong, but in that case wouldn’t the person placing the bet be ‘inside trading’ and committing the offence? Obviously Trippier hasn’t don’t anything wrong by telling people where he’s moving to, whether he placed a bet is another matter, but he is denying that.

How stupidly thick though are bookies accepting bets on a gamble when people know what's going to happen. F them I wish I could bet on.myself deciding between ASDA Aldi Tesco or Sainsbury's for my shopping.

It’s ridiculous that bookies get away with offering these type of bets. Who got done last time, Daniel Sturridge? Word is always going to get out, especially with a move abroad.

Re: Kieran Trippier in trouble
There can't be anything in the 'rules' preventing him discussing his move with his family. If someone chooses to take advantage he can't be held responsible, surely not?
The Bookies never seem bothered when they are winning or if they make a mistake and don't pay out.

If a football story is 4 minutes old, let alone 4 days old, it's going to be on here.
Do you know what the M65 is like tonight? We don't get many updates any more you see.

Re: Kieran Trippier in trouble
When I was researching the book about Stan at Bury, crouching over the microfilm reader at Bury Library going through old copies of the Bury Times, I found a story about Kieran’s brother getting lost on Holcombe Hill (the one with Peel Tower on top of it) on New Years Day 1996. You can get lost in very deep rabbit holes when looking at old newspapers if you’re so inclined.
