Yoghurt Burps

Post by Rowls » Fri May 01, 2020 7:00 pm

Stop pretending it never happened to you too. This happened to everybody.

You sit down. You open your yoghurt and then - pflllurrp plop.

The yoghurt trumps out a yoggo-burp and you have splooshy drops of yoghurt on your top.

This is an appeal for help.

Scientists of UTC! Your messageboard needs you!

What causes these burps?

What can be done to mitigate or eradicate them?

I peel back the corner using my hands with my mouth around it, it’s a skill

I’ve stopped wearing clothes since the lockdown so I simply lick the yoghurt off my chest. If I can’t reach it with my tongue then I politely ask my dog to do the honours.

Jab the lid with the pointy end of your spoon before opening, sorted :-)

Yoghurt is a foodstuff produced by fermenting certain bacterial cultures in milk.

And yoghurts mind! 😂

Like a few have suggested, pop the lid first with something sharp. Releases the pressure.

Saw the bottom off with a fine toothed saw, such as a tenon saw or hacksaw and let it drain onto your
chosen receptacle.

Under no circumstances should you use a circular saw or angle grinder - it tends to
go everywhere.

That's my tip for the day.

I use Yeo Valley Organic Natural Youghurt. I've never noticed these burps.

The best eructations in my experienced come after eating ice cream.

I open it slowly away from me, no problem. The trouble is Im often reading the iPad or watching tv as I spoon it in, it's at that point my tea spoon drips, spilling it all over my top or trousers. :x

I wish I could hear a yoghurt burp. It's never happened to me. Please tell me how to make it happen.
