Re: The Full Monty (Film)
Yeah, a surprisingly enjoyable 'feel good' film
Remember seeing a cinema trailer for it many years ago and immediately thinking it's not for me it's just a chick flick.
Watched it when it was first shown on TV a year or 2 later ( Ahem, at the wife"s insistence of course) and enjoyed it.

Re: The Full Monty (Film)
Take these numbers with a pinch of salt (from Wikipedia) but apparently the film grossed $250 million from a budget of just $3.5 million. Not too shabby!
Re: The Full Monty (Film)
My Mrs was a House Mistress at Bentham Grammar School and asked me to drive the minibus, as she was taking the 6th form to Lancaster Cinema to see this on the Saturday night when it 1st came out.
I thought to my self why the hell would I want to watch a film about male strippers....
I spent the next hour and a half laughing my head off ... brilliant cast, brilliant script and one of the funniest films made at that time..... we watched again last night and I was in stitches at that scene in the job center queue when Donna Summers Hot Love was played....

Re: The Full Monty (Film)
Good film , great cast , probs about the last years they could really make films “ as is “ without having to tick all the boxes of gay character (s) ,strong female /black /Asian roles etc . Nowt wrong with the above in the right contexts but as “ defaults “ they can dilute so much
Re: The Full Monty (Film)
The only time I`ve seen a standing ovation in a cinema

You seem to have an obsession with people who are of a different race or sexuality to you.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2020 4:23 pmGood film , great cast , probs about the last years they could really make films “ as is “ without having to tick all the boxes of gay character (s) ,strong female /black /Asian roles etc .
