I know this is in the news, Loch Arkaig, at the moment but the Spring Photos guys and others should find this interesting and, strangely, therapeutic.
i'm busy ripping out a staircase and landing, ready to replace it with an oak trim and glass panel job and have had this showing on the PC solid for a few days.
You've a chance of seeing the pair swap over duties, a brown trout being delivered, the odd deer/stag wandering through the forest, passing jets seeing off those pesky Russian intruders and the odd owl risking its neck by trespassing.
No doubt there'll be a stupid comment from our resident snarkster but this is well worth following, a damn sight more interesting than some of the issues currently being flogged to death on TBHE.

The first chick appeared a couple of days ago with a second imminent. Looks like a gorgeous day up there.

I'm fortunate enough to live within five miles of a nest.

If you go for a walk along the shore of Bassenthwaite Lake there's a chance you can see the adults fishing.

I floated a six mile stretch of a local river on Friday. Had an osprey hit the water about 50 feet from the boat,an absolute thing of beauty. It missed the fish and then flew over us. A couple of hours later,we had 3 adult ospreys fighting over a rainbow trout one of them had caught. Amazing

Almost 20 years ago ... not long after I had set up the Locksmith business. I had a call out up the dales to Arncliffe, I drove over the moors ... completed the job and driving back I stopped up on the moortop for my lunch.

I spotted a pair of Peregrine Falcons swooping and courting each other ... it was fantastic watching them swirl up and up then tumbling through the air together almost hitting the ground before sweeping back up to start again.... when I looked at my watch I realised I had been there just short of 2 hours 🤣...

All I could think about was how this was my office now ... not cooped up in a brick box or a factory 😁....

Bloody brilliant

The number and size of the fish the male delivers on a daily basis is pretty impressive.

I suppose it has to be !

I'm not sure they do. I saw the nest there last year from one of the hides but no ospreys sadly. There was a cam focussed on a nest near "Poole Harbour" but a no-show from the male meant an unfertilised egg that lay cold in the nest and its eventual desertion.

Corrected !

There are - that's great news. I'd like to see that.

I have a small lake outside my house and we have a lot of Ospreys and Bald Eagles on a daily basis. Never tire of watching them fishing but the best ever was watching a female Bald Eagle teaching a juvenile to fly. She literally kept pushing him/her from behind. We are very lucky to have great bird life in Florida and pleased to say that the Eagle population is booming

Superb.
A few years ago, before our kids flew the nest, we used to throw the leftover chicken carcase onto the roof of the villa we'd rented.
It was a matter of minutes before the most hideous-looking vulture type birds came a-scavenging. They weren't pretty but they were very interesting to watch, mind.

Another thing I find fascinating about the cam set-up is that you can go on at 10.30 of a night and it's still daylight up there.
I think it was one day last week when the nightcam kicked in for about four hours or something ridiculous.
A nice end to the day.
