What have you thought of doing ?

Post by Funkydrummer » Tue May 05, 2020 10:46 am

.... to pass the time that is so mundane/not necessary?

For example, yesterday I found myself looking at the wooden lids on the tea, coffee and sugar
containers and thinking " I think I'll varnish them" :P :o ;)

I've looked at the wife a few times these last 8 weeks and contemplated murder.

I keep looking at the jumble of cables behind the TV, TiVo box, router and DVD player thinking "I'm going to untangle those and tie them up into nice neat bundles"

College courses and my work have put a few hours training each day over Teams on various pieces of equipment we sell.

That and 10 miles running a day is about as exciting as my day gets! I've actually started looking forward to the weekly shop, even if it does feel really strange to be near other people outside my immediate family.

I started rebuilding a small wall in the garden that collapsed two years ago. I made some fine progress in the first week of lockdown but haven't revisited it since.

I also need to put a rubber seal thing down under the garage door to stop water getting in. I bought that two years ago and haven't got round to it yet.

We got a click & collect order from Tesco on Sunday. It was like a family day out.

Since I moved into my house in 1993 I've caught the back of my head on an infuriating dumb stupid metal hook in the understairs cupboard countless times.
Yesterday it took me about 45 seconds to unscrew it with some pliers.
When I got the Hoover out this morning, I felt this gushing sense of satisfaction. Highlight of the lock down so far for me.

I fitted one of those for my mother a couple of months ago and it has worked wonders. During the last heavy rain period, not a drop of water came in. Make sure you seal it fully and right to the ends.

I've started writing letters to old and new friends. Not a mention of the death toll once

I'm gonna have a celebratory drink for you cricketfield. Congratulations!

Yesterday I moved a handle to a cupboard which now means the cupboard can be opened without bending down.

Life is a revelation.

Wot a time to be alive. :)

Buy thee a cable snake, they all go inside it and it scrunches closed.

It'll be done by 2023.
