RIP to a musical genius. I had tickets to see Kraftwerk next week (Coronavirus put paid to that), real bucket list stuff and although he wasn't with the group anymore he was the genesis of Kraftwerk along with Ralf Hütter. He helped create the greatest piece of music I've ever heard, Autobahn.

Not a great week so far - first Dave Greenfield now Florian Schneider

Whilst Trans Europe Express is generally considered their best work Autobahn's always been my favorite album - for anyone with a spare 22.42

I awoke to 'Tour de France' playing on Radio 3 this morning but was then dismayed when the presenter announced the sad news.
I'm going to listen to 'Ralph and Florian' on Spotify later, not heard that album for years.
RIP Florian Schneider.

Saw them at the velodrome about 10 years ago and they had some of the british cycling team doing laps as they played tour de France.

Jeremy Vine just played Autobahn on his Radio 2 show. Great piece of music and amazing that it is from an album released in 1974...
