Good article,i never realised so many teams came straight up from the 2nd tier, and went on to win the top flight in their 1st season back.
I guess it showed that before the days of the PL,there was little to choose between the top 2 divisions.
What me though was that neither of our recent promotions even merited a mention, coming up in 13/14 without spending a bean, and having to sell our main striker, the Ings/Vokes partnership, and we actually lost less games than Leicester that season,we lost 5,they lost 6.
15-16 Losing Ings & Trippier,Gray & Vokes taking up the slack, and Barton bossing the midfield, again only losing 5 games all season,23 games unbeaten after Boxing Day,90+ points.
We also lost fewer games then many of the 10 selected, and in most cases had a much smaller budget in comparison.

In the last promotion season with 23 undefeated who was manager of the season-Brighton's manager (Houghton) as he had managed on scraps whereas when we went up behind Leicester when Sean managed on scraps Pearson took the accolade. Anyone spotting a trend here?

The media and such like pretend we don't exist ..fortunately the fixture list and league table says otherwise...

My Dad & I watched Clough's side destroy us at the Turf on their way to promotion.
It was only a 1-0 scoreline, but we were utterly outplayed that day & spent most of the game wondering where the ball was & chasing shadows.
Forest never seemed to move out of second gear.
On the bus back to Mancs, I remember jokingly saying 'bet the win the league next year'.
No surprise when they did.

Surprised not to see the Barnsley 2015/16 side mentioned on the BBC

Re: BBC article:best teams to play in Championship/Division 2
Article ruined by some of the average teams who made the cut but then leaving out the Spurs and Ipswich sides who came up and immediately won the title. They should be first and second.
