Don’t be surprised if this stays in the game. Another massive win for the moneybags teams.

Not so sure - it is a FIFA recommendation to IFAB who have approved it temporarily during any catch up with some stipulations.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 1:36 pmDon’t be surprised if this stays in the game. Another massive win for the moneybags teams.
Substitutions will be limited to three opportunities during the match as well as half time so you won't be able to make five separately during the second half.
Up to each league whether they choose to adopt it.

Re: Teams to be allowed five substitutions
So, our opponents will bring on five pairs of fresh legs somewhere thro the game. Meanwhile Sean's team will stay organised and exploit the changes in the other team as their players get to know their team mates and the 5 subs each try to prove that they should have been starting. Meanwhile, the 5 guys who have been subbed off will be unhappy and there will be division within the ranks.

They will need to use several substitutes if they play in masks. They will probably have to slow down the pace a bit as well. It will most likely be exhausting.

They won't play in masks, bonkers idea, they didn't play in masks in the South Korean game earlier today, and their culture is used to wearing masks.UnderSeige wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 4:03 pmThey will need to use several substitutes if they play in masks. Given the strength in virtually every PL squad nowadays, there's no reason why they can't easily fill the bench with 5 or more options, after all they usually manage to juggle their teams for domestic cups easily enough,as well as European comps.

Presumably to minimise the risk of injuries caused by players not having a full ‘pre-season’.

Re: Teams to be allowed five substitutions
It is a recognition that the players are unlikely to be properly fit, as they are being rushed back and that teams are likely to see more rotation, and this will allow the big teams to bring on key players for part of a game if it is not going in the way that they want
Re: Teams to be allowed five substitutions
Even though we seem to be having these rule changes we don't seem to be any closer on knowing when/if the season will be concluded.
There are no rumours via twitter/media from well placed journalists that there's even going to be a vote or agreement anytime soon regarding any resumption.

Sean has enough trouble with using any subs .Five will be a real challenge but hopefully we will get some U23 stepping up once we have cleared our our out of contact players

At this rate we'll be the only league not to re-start since La Liga has now been given the go-ahead.conyoviejo wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 6:55 pmFind out on more Sunday when the scruffy haired prime minister gives us a lockdown update.. Hopefully nothing will change much until things improve.

until people start screaming that they are not good enough, when they make a mistake - which they will simply because they are young and are still developingWoodleyclaret wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 6:55 pmSean has enough trouble with using any subs .Five will be a real challenge but hopefully we will get some U23 stepping up once we have cleared our our out of contact players

Re: Teams to be allowed five substitutions
If they run around for 5 minutes In a gas mask , they'll have to keep clearing the goggles of steam.

This is the kind of thing that happens when committees (organisations) have little to do but believe they have to
be seen to be something. They invent stupid rules.
