The strange thing, looking back on this game, is that the majority of the side here -who struggled to beat the pub team that is Macclesfield Town- were promoted the following season.

We sometimes don't realise how fine the margins are in football; what a difference a few key signings can make to a team and what role intangible things like confidence and team spirit play in separating success from failure.
