You're right CT, we must never forget how close we came to folding. Makes our achievements in the last 20 years seem all the more remarkable. I was in the seething mass of humanity that was the Longside that day, and if ever a crowd won a game for a team, that was it.
Have watched quite a bit of footage of the game in the last few days. We all remember the goals of course, but I had really forgotten one crucial moment: Orient player is rampaging down the left wing towards the corner of our box with other attackers up with him and we are stretched; then Ray Deakin charges across to make a perfectly timed sliding tackle that could easily have resulted in a penalty, fantastic challenge, then we attack down the right wing which results in Grewcock opening the scoring a few seconds later. RIP Ray.
