Battery Lawn Mower advice

Post by Burnleyareback2 » Mon May 11, 2020 9:24 pm

Has any one got any advice in terms of battery lawnmowers?
Ideally I’d like one with a roller like my Bosch Rotak one.

Lawns are split over different levels and heights which rules out petrol mowers, I’m thinking of a battery one to avoid swearing at extension leads each week.

Thanks

I would recommend you buy the best you can afford - buy cheap, buy twice.

4Ah battery, 40V and then you have to choose the width of cut.

Happy hunting - The Oregon range look a bit tasty for the money.

Please see anothe post "Cordless mowers" I've found the previous post from last year where I researched these mowers so I've brought it back up.

Get the widest cut! Less walking up and down!

A 2-stroke mower of some sort, if they still exist, will also deal with different gradients (not having an oil sump which 4 stroke have and is the issue with gradients).

Mind you, for environmental reasons, I'd prefer you to get and electric or battery (or push) mower.

Buy cheap buy twice absolutely correct. Recently bought one on ebay from a place in Burnley area and unless I want grass that is no shorter than two inches (50mm approx' for the younger ones) it's neither use nor ornament. Can't return it as I used it, fancy that checking the mower works means you can't return it once you find out it's useless!

Spend my weekends with them getting caught in the garden and then not feeling back in. Double the pain if I’m using it for the power wash and the hose pipe is copying the extension lead.

Can't you take it back on the basis that it's "not fit for purpose" as you've explained it doesn't cut very good. You've had to use it to find that out so I wouldn't worry about your rights to return it.
