Training at Turf Moor
Training at Turf Moor
If the season is to start again behind closed doors would it be a good idea for the players to train at an empty TM just to get used to playing in a near silent stadium? Less of a shock to the system when the real games start.
Re: Training at Turf Moor
Probably, I'd like to think Mr Dyche will do everything in his power to make sure the players are mentally and physically prepared

Sean Dyche has already said we'd be doing that

Pitch is going to be horrendous next year without a re-surface.
Just like proper football in the 60s.

Re: Training at Turf Moor
The pitch looks like a snooker table
We spent a fortune on it a couple of seasons ago and its appearance is a credit to our ground staff
I dont understand why it should need any major money spending on it.

Doubt that it will ever cut up like it used to as it isn’t turf as we used to know it.

I'd think that having not been used for a couple of months in spring would help the pitch recover and get ready for a sudden rush of games in June if they go forward.

Re: Training at Turf Moor
???? wtf horrendous? It gets patched and reseeded all the time. I don't think it is due a dig-up for a few years yet. And I'm sure those uv lights have been busy greening the grass (whilst maintaining social distancing of course) these last few weeks. And I'm certain that even if nothing was done to it for a years it would still be better drained than the quagmire of the 1960s!huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Tue May 12, 2020 5:10 pmPitch is going to be horrendous next year without a re-surface.

Premier League clubs given training restrictions
Tackling will be banned, pitches disinfected and players restricted to groups of five when England's Premier League football clubs start a first phase of team training - which it is hoped will begin on Monday,
Official protocols sent to players and managers and obtained by the BBC reveal that social distancing must be "strictly observed".
Corner-flags, balls, cones, goalposts and even playing surfaces will also be disinfected after each training session, which will be restricted to 75 minutes.
Ongoing surveillance measures included in further guidance include twice-weekly testing, and a daily pre-training questionnaire and temperature check.
Under a section titled "health screening", players are also told a central register of Covid-19 test results (subject to their consent and Professional Footballers' Association agreement) will need to be maintained.
Recommended "control measures" include "meticulous personal hygiene and use of PPE personal protective equipment, no congregation in communal areas, including but not limited to medical rooms and gym areas".
Club officials met this week to continue talks on "Project Restart", with the English top flight aiming to resume fixtures on 12 June.

Re: Training at Turf Moor
Does anyone really think we will play again in the 2019/2020 season.

Re: Training at Turf Moor
Management and players of Top 6 clubs are still allowed to surround and jostle the referee at HT and FT providing they wear face protectors and then self isolate for 14 days afterwards?

Too much money at stake not to
Too many legal challenges if they come up with some formula to decide promotion and relegation
Similar problems if they void the season, which in reality would be the best outcome, then start next season when it's deemed safe to do so

Re: Training at Turf Moor
Still finish this season and make adjustments to next for me, not bothered if it takes until Xmas.
In all divisions

Re: Training at Turf Moor
Hang on. So, footballers can only train in groups of five outside but children plus teachers and teaching assistants will be in classes of 15 inside and that’s apparently safe?

Working on the principle children don't spread the virus, and don't get ill if they catch it
That's the scientific idea
Some agree, some disagree, but that's what it's based on

Like I said, some agree, some disagree. All countries have their own thoughts. I think it was Switzerland who allowed grandparents hugging grandchildren because of their scientific adviceClaretnick wrote: ↑Wed May 13, 2020 9:16 amSomething seems to be happening with children;

New York probably won't allow it.
