Yesterday they suggested that 26% of those who have died in the UK from COVID-19 had diabetes as an underlying condition. That's exactly why I'm sat at home, only going out for walks, and have been since a week before lockdown.

I've done this to avoid risk as much as possible, I wouldn't start gambling now. It will all depend on what the situation is at the time but I would have to believe it safe.

No but only because I have type 1 diabetes and as Tony has said it seems to be a major underlying complication factor.

In my experience of both myself and a fellow type 1, if you get admitted to hospital then they do not know how to manage it properly and expect you to just park it at the door until you get discharged. I wouldn't fancy my chances of somebody managing my diabetes whilst I'm flat out cold, and would most likely die of high blood sugar before the virus killed me off. Makes you wonder if that's a contributory factor to all the diabetics who have died

Theres a risk to everything in life, I don't do a lot of activities that I deem too risky but going to a game of football would be within my personal level of acceptable risk.

Despite healthy conditions I would go.

A few reasons why.

O.27% of our population had it at any one time during the peak. (You might argue more but they didn'thave it bad enough to seek medical attention.)

Spain have found 15 different strains of the Virus while testing, which indicates it can weaken while travelling.

I think most people must have been exposed to a little bit of it now.

Lots of football games were attended while it was amongst us and I haven't heard anyone say they got it while at a match

I’m youngish, fit and healthy. But I could easily be an asymptomatic carrier. I could have the virus at some point and not even know. I wouldn’t want to risk passing it to other people who wouldn’t do well with the disease

My consultant, bless her, told me that if I catch it to go straight to Accrington cemetery and cut out the hospital ! She was not being totally serious but I got the point.

So leaving the house petrifies me until the country is clear of it but Turf Moor will be the last place I will be whilst there is any chance of catching it.

Iam not aware of any, nor iam I aware of anyone claiming somebody might have caught it there.

I don't read all the articles, but I know a big fuss was made about Liverpool playing a champions league game the following week, and that could have caused an outbreak

I know a dozen people who attended Cheltenham festival and not a single one has been ill, nor anyone they know.

I'm not saying they haven't passed it on to strangers but I'd expect at least one of them to have been ill with this Covid.

I’m aware of two people who were at the Spurs game who have since been tested positive for. COVID-19. I’m not suggesting for one minute they got it at that game. More likely they already had it which means they could have passed it on.
