I've thoroughly enjoyed all the reflections and reports on the 59-60 title winning season. Wonderful stuff - the social and news memories as well as the football. Looking forward to the centenary of the 20-21 title winning season next :)

Iā€™d have loved to have done something but unfortunately might not have access to anything, reports etc.

How key was the decision not to play the postponed league game against City on March 12th until May 2nd? ......when all other clubs had completed their season.

Easy to imagine Harry Potts with Ray Bennion and Billy Dougall over a cup of tea on Monday morning March 14th plotting how important it might be to have one outstanding game after the season's end when a certain team would know exactly what was required to win the title. 8-)

"Tommy Cummings was given the centre half berth for the last FEW matches" - more than a few, 15 or so I make it?
His contribution was very important, a wise old - head.

Thanks, but must also have replaced Seith 7 times earlier in the season after losing the left back berth to Elder.
23 appearances in total

Thanks again, CT for all the hard work you obviously put into this series of articles. A few things I remembered, others I wasn't aware of but above all a comprehensive overview of that fantastic season. I can still picture the excitement of an 8 yr. old boy travelling on the bus with my dad/brothers from Haslingden to the match. Memories I will treasure for ever
