Do we actually need any new signings?
Given our lack of funds and assuming we stick with our present squad, getting Phil Bardsley and Jeff to sign new deals, offloading Hart.Lennon and Brady, do we need any new signings. We have several U23 players back now.

Re: Do we actually need any new signings?
If the rumour about Palace wanting Dyche, Tarkowski and McNeil in one swoop is true, then yes.
Re: Do we actually need any new signings?
Yes we are looking like at least the departures of
Gibson
Hart
Lennon
Hendrick
and possibly Bardsley and Brady.
All 6 have been regulars in the matchday squad, 2 featuring regularly in the first team.
Next year see's another 2 or 3 OOC and/or approaching 33.
Although a window or 2 short of ideal this next window is where we need to get 2 or 3 in ready for the conveyor belt to start turning again, as regularly said January is very tough and expensive for us none market leaders

I'm sure they want them, but I don't think they have the 100m it will take to buy themCrispyClaret wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2020 7:13 amIf the rumour about Palace wanting Dyche, Tarkowski and McNeil in one swoop is true, then yes.

I wouldn’t sign any player until at least next season. And even then I’d be reluctant for us to spend much of anything.

And if anyone offered a ridiculous offer for any of our players we would be foolish to reject it (if it offered money up front).

Have we ever rejected bids for our players?cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2020 9:24 amAnd if anyone offered a ridiculous offer for any of our players we would be foolish to reject it (if it offered money up front).

Can't see Tarks going to London as he fought to get back near his mother.

It’s like motor racing. If you stand still you are going backwards. Fresh blood is good for all concerned.
I see the Mirror has SD, Tarks and Dwight all going to Crystal Palace. They are bored or p!ssed.

I agree. But for once I think cash in the bank is better than on the pitch. Who knows what will happen when things go back to normal and who knows what will happen to player values and wages. I can’t see them going up that’s for sure.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2020 9:55 amIt’s like motor racing. If you stand still you are going backwards. Fresh blood is good for all concerned.

Re: Do we actually need any new signings?
Correct but all clubs are in bother and transfer values and wages will plummet. We will still be in for the same standard players as before. Hopefully a few of the clubs who would be out-bidding us are struggling.cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2020 10:16 amI agree. Dyche,McNeil and Tarkowski are destined for much bigger clubs than Palace, even if they stay with us its a step up from Palace.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2020 9:55 amIt’s like motor racing. If you stand still you are going backwards. Fresh blood is good for all concerned.

We should buy young promising and talented youngsters . they give a thorough training in our academy to become stars of tomorrow .
Re: Do we actually need any new signings?
If we take the lead at the Emptyhad that's all we should be doing for the rest of the match anyway.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2020 12:13 pmCould do we a few Dyche fit ball boys to retrieve the ball when or defence welly's it into the empty stands

Need to upgrade every season as you cant stand still in the league otherwise you will be relagated .

Palace haven't got enough money for those threeCrispyClaret wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2020 7:13 amIf the rumour about Palace wanting Dyche, Tarkowski and McNeil in one swoop is true, then yes.
Re: Do we actually need any new signings?
Out of all the out of contracts, Jeff is probably the only one I want to stay. Bardsley maybe but I expect a right back to be coming in. I'd also presume Gibson will be leaving this window but you never know.
Presuming there's no other outgoings (except Gibson and the free's) I think 4 will be needed. Right back, Winger, Centre half, Centre mid/Winger depending on where Brownhill fits in.
That would be Hart, Bardsley, Gibson, Brady, Lennon and Hendrick leaving (6) and 4 Incomings. The remaining 2 spots could be filled by Koiki, Benson, Glennon, Richardson?
I'd take Buendia from Norwich for starters.

Re: Do we actually need any new signings?
Transfer prices and wages will change dramatically for those clubs below the top 10 in the PL and right down the pyramid, which personally sits very well with me...still in shock at our wages in the last accounts.

I'd have thought the whole squad would be going to Crystal Palace. We were scheduled to play there 4-April before covid-19 shut everything down.huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2020 9:55 amIt’s like motor racing. If you stand still you are going backwards.
