ARTICLE: Two ex-Clarets stay while another goes at Mansfield

Post by ClaretTony » Tue May 19, 2020 2:56 pm

With League Two finished, clubs are confirming their retained lists. Good news for two former Clarets at Mansfield but not for a third.

I was only looking at this last night to see when we announced it last year.

Under 18 announcement came last season on 6th March while under 23's was announced on 2nd April. We were still playing, just about, on the earlier of the two dates this year so I'm sure they were close to confirming the decisions. Who knows when it will be now?

‘...Sharpe’s granddad, of course, once broke his leg in the FA Cup Final...’
not ever mentioned much...perhaps you could do an article! :D

sorry to hear Mansfield letting MacDonald go (particularly as he was just recovering from an injury prior to lockdown.

He always impressed with his bustling style of play (looked a handful for defenders)

He played in Europa league while on loan as we prepared for 1st season in premier league!

Good luck Alex!

They were maybe holding back on the decision making process whilst the audit for Cat1 status was underway. When that stopped so did everything else - I'm sure video calls just don't pass the same amount of details as face to face meeting s would.

There isn’t an audit underway

We were hoping to be audited for cat 1, as were Palace & Leeds, but the latest info is that they were cancelled.

A very worrying time for our U23 lads and second year scholars as it is for hundreds of players in the game, professionals or potential professionals.

Don't think the lads have been informed yet so it really is a worrying time for them.
