If you hear 'the next contestant is Mark from Hertfordshire' then there is every chance I have succeeded

Mixed bag today. A disappointing 15 on round 1. And a full house 39 on round 2. Plus I got the 3 in 10. 21 attempts to get through this morning, all unsuccessful....

Having four grandchildren I've served my time watching 'Peppa Pig' and 'The Picture' where Daddy Pig is left at home with the children with orders from Mummy Pig to hang a picture on the wall is a classic 5 minutes of animation. Never tire of it.Swizzlestick wrote: ↑Thu Jun 04, 2020 6:52 pmYeah, I reckon you'll really struggle at the moment with so many being at home. Plus, it's obviously never been more popular what with the All Day Popmaster bank holiday just gone.
Best bet is waiting until things are 'back to normal' (could be a while!) to increase your chances.
I keep forgetting to put it on, usually because I'm stuck watching Peppa bloody Pig.

I always thought the way they advertise for contestants not long after the programme comes on air meant they were short of punters, it sounds like that's not the case with our resident poster Herts making numerous telephone calls every morning trying to get through. As the saying goes Herts, "tomorrow is another day".

Shame you can't get on considering the absolute plankton they just had on in the first round then.

Re: Your best score on Ken Bruce-Pop Master
16 attempts to get through this morning from just after 9am, no joy as ever. Not listened to the quiz yet, that will be via pod cast on the drive home. Score update this evening. Just read updated T&Cs - only email entries at the moment. I do email every morning in addition to what I now know is wasting my time calling!
Re: Your best score on Ken Bruce-Pop Master
Yes she didn't do very well this morning, it happens, on another day she'd probably get a really high score. Anyway Herts, yes it's just email only so keep it going, I'm convinced you'll get on the show.

I dunno - I mean, I know it's 'only easy if you know the answer' but I'd expect somebody entering a pop quiz to know who sang (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher & Higher or at least know a Verve song.

Re: Your best score on Ken Bruce-Pop Master
I got a call from the Popmaster people about half an hour ago. Answered 4 out of the 5 qualifying questions and the researcher took a load of information from me. I MAY get a call tomorrow morning to be on the show. Fingers crossed and if I do get on, be sure to listen for the shout out to fans of the mighty Clarets

Re: Your best score on Ken Bruce-Pop Master
I would advise you to listen to Radio 2 at 10.30 today.......
Re: Your best score on Ken Bruce-Pop Master
Good luck then.
Would 10:25 not be better, unless you're on second ?

Tough set Mark. Her's were easier.
As you said, no pressure when not live on the radio.
Up The Clarets

Re: Your best score on Ken Bruce-Pop Master
Jeez, Herts, that was one of the toughest rounds I've ever heard.
Re: Your best score on Ken Bruce-Pop Master
Under no pressure at all, I scored 18 on the first round. Didn't see this post until the 'up the clarets at the end' and came to check.
Also blew my mind when Davis seemed to think Justin Timberlake was Canadian.
Well done though, it wasn't an easy round.

Managed 30 sat in my kitchen and not with millions listening, helped being an old git knowing all bonus answers.
Takes guts to apply so good effort.

Some very difficult ones in there... I matched your 12 points ... enjoy the T'shirt much better than a bluetooth speaker

Re: Your best score on Ken Bruce-Pop Master
I think that is the lowest score I have ever had. That's the difference between shouting the answers in the car and being live on national radio.. All I could think of for the first question was Somebody to love by Queen and it wouldn't go out of my head. No bonus questions is never going to be a good round - and I couldn't hear the last song down the phone. To be fair I don't think I would have got it anyway.
Ill get 39 if I listen to the podcast on the drive home though

Radio this week... what's next
Those 6 pointers were bloody hard though... and the lass that followed you only got one of hers so matched your score on the 3 pointers.
