Yes,that's disgusting threatening his family, but if Boris had done right and sacked him, this wouldn't have happened.. The truth is Boris is phooked without him and will do all he can to keep him..Burnley Ace wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 5:27 pmThe Labour hate mob are gathering outside his house spewing bile whilst waving their pitchforks!

Was that Prince Andrew wearing a mask?
Unless I missed it, was he asked why, if he was going on a test drive to Barnard Castle, he needed to take his wife and the child.
If the Scottish woman got the push, so should he. At least she knew that what she had done went against the policy and was apologetic about it.

I'm pretty sure loads have broken the lockdown orders.
Lots of those caught doing it have been warned and/or fined.
But here we've a guy who was central the the making of this policy.
He breaks the policy he'd have helped create and then has his boss saying he did what any father would have done....... erm...

It's crazy anyway, sick people don't travel anywhere or even contemplate it, you've got James Cook hospital in Middlesbrough & probably something in Newcastle & Sunderland, if poorly you would stay wherever the nearest hospital was & regarding the child it'd make more sense for everything to be close at hand to maximise the recovery anything different to that is endangering the child even more.

Re: Dominic Cummings
What I heard DC say was that his wife asked if he was safe to drive to London, so I think it makes sense that she accompanied him on short test drive. Of course, there were 2 adults and their 4 year old child staying in the same property, so their son needed to come to.timshorts wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 5:43 pmWas that Prince Andrew wearing a mask?

Need to take that T -shirt back
Like a lot said about his error of judgement, factually incorrect.
Even someone who should knows better had the audacity to state driving 200miles was endangering life if he became ill on the way or had an accident and no one at that conference asked whether his wife couldn't have driven back as if I followed it 1) she was ill 2) he might become ill as many around him had Covid so who will look after the boy 2) they drive to Durham 3) next day Dom is ill but wife improved and so can look after child 3) at some stage child ill and spends night in hospital 4) Dom can drive and pick up wife and child
4) after about 14 days can drive back and start work after weekend after getting medical advise 5) go for test drive to see if he is fit to drive and spend short time out of car in Barnard Castle 6) drive back to London.
I really don't care whether he stays or goes but are we saying because he may have been a f******g idiot, we will all say F**k the guidance we will behave as normal and put our lives and the lives of others at risk?
IMO the media is doing more harm with this epidemic than DC has done by his indiscretions

He deemed it necessary, rightly or wrongly, therefore he did nothing wrong. If his parents lived in Watford this is a nothing story, but because it's Dominic Cummings the media are screaming for blood.
I don't know wether he is telling the truth or not, neither do you or the media, or they would be presenting the evidence. BUT if he is telling the truth then I don't think he has done anything wrong. He hasn't been in contact with anyone but his family, at a time when he and his wife were incapacitated through illness, and preferred to take the child to a place where his welfare was best served. If that's the truth what's wrong.
As in every other political thread on this board there is no medium ground. Those who have faith in him, or are prepared to giver him the benefit will be fine, those that hate his and the Tories guts aren't going to accept any explanation.

He was wrong and as the others have done he should resign but being Boris’ puppet he won’t.
This is where the British press is at it’s best. Righting wrongs. They’ll keep this going until the tories get rid of Boris, with a bit of luck.

This is a spectacular interpretation. So long as the person involved deems something necessary they cannot be doing anything wrong.Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 7:03 pmTBF he hasn't broken any policy. The policy stated nobody should be making any unnecessary journeys, WHEREVER POSSIBLE.

Fancy driving 200 miles to buy some second hand windows. So long as you deem it necessary then you've done nothing wrong.

Re: Dominic Cummings
It’s called “subjective liability” rather than “objective liability” this might help
“Subjective mens rea, as a form of liability, takes on the persona of the accused person by focusing on the accused’s intention, knowledge or awareness at the time of the offence. Instead, in the objective form of liability, the assessment focuses on what the accused should have or ought to have known at the time.”

Re: Dominic Cummings
Well that’s it then
Dominic Cummings has been receiving threats no doubt from the caring left
and he fled with his family
The nation awaited like a World Cup final penalty shoot out
Bang back of the net!!!! The fat lady sings
It’s over, the home fans roared and the left have gone into total meltdown the scenes are unbelievable they arent taking this sitting down.
Dummies. Toys nappies flying everywhere
Will they ever recover ? First it was defeat at the hands of Brexit then the humilation of the General Election. Recently they tried to have some success but they couldnt even score against Priti Patel
Its going to be a long night, Owen Jones will be asking his mother can he stay up past bed time to write some tweets ,Piers Morgan will go into tweeting meltdown whilst Gary Lineaker and Lily Allen will have to lie down and do breathing exercises.

I thought he explained what he did very well for a man that's not media savvy.
If I were in the same position id take action to make sure my children could be cared for.
This is the same media that hounded and virtually killed Caroline Flack.

From what I can remember, apart from DC walking in Downing Street and his few minutes trying to get through the "media scrum" to his car, I can't remember him being in the "public eye."
