I may be wrong, but I don't think Phil Bardsley has ever been sent off.
Looking it up shows 1 red card but it's the way he plays that worries me. Don't get me wrong I think it's good to be aggressive in the tackle but I also know how good many of our opponents are at 'making the most of it'.

Look at last years stats. Same amount of yellow cards as the worst in our team with half the games played...

And look at this year's - half the yellow cards of Tarkowski from half the number of games, half the yellow cards of Hendrick from more than half of the games and considerably better than Westwood.

A quick Google of "phil bardsley sent off" shows he was sent off for two yellows in a game Sunderland 0-1 Newcastle.

The whole Bardsley is a red card waiting to happen began when we won a few games and those who love to whinge after a defeat had to find something new.

It gets aired in the player ratings when he hasn't even been booked at times. Still it is nice to be heading back towards a football forum once again.

Also sent off in successive seasons playing for Stoke against Chelsea but overall his disciplinary record isn't bad. As claretonthecoast1882 says, something people choose to whinge about. Almost as bad as the Chris Wood offside stuff.

Depends on how much Lallana wants to play regularly. It simply wont happen at Leicester unless they get injuries or they sell. .Out wide of midfield you have Barnes, Gray or Allbright. In the "hole" you have Perez. More significantly in the centre there is Maddison and Indide (both permanent starters) then Tilemans, Praet, and the up and coming Choudury. With us I could see him starting two thirds of fixtures (subject to staying free from injury)

If he's injury free he would/should start 100% of our games unless we are buying another 1 or 2 top notch starters.

Leicester have Brendan Rodgers who signed him for Liverpool - and given they've offered him a long term deal I can't see him saying no to it.

To me, it suggests PB is very good at judging referees and what he can and cant get away with as they officiate. He certainly "likes a challenge" - and fortunately there's still a bit of body contact allowed in today's game (a rediculously small amount for us FBs brought up in the 60s ;) ).

Looking like Lallana is a shoe-in at Leicester; as already outlined, most likely as a last 20 mins sub given what Foxes already have available.

Two of those in the Premier League, one in the League Cup and two in Scotland.

Sunderland v Newcastle, August 2001 - sent off on 89 mins for two yellow cards
Stoke v Chelsea, March 2017 - sent off in stoppage time for two yellow cards

That one at Stoke was his last game for them before signing for us.

Yeah he's improved alright, but his tendancy to tackle aggressively is scary, especially when players are close to the box.

Wait there was a 'thing'? I thought it was just from watching him play.

Common guys, you must be able to see it. I'm sure you both go/watch the games.

Times, Tuesday.

Note the bit about wages - underlined.

Jürgen Klopp wants Adam Lallana to extend deal at Liverpool for league finale

Adam Lallana is in talks to extend his Liverpool career to ensure he is part of the club’s anticipated title success.

The England midfielder’s present contract is due to expire on June 30, but Jürgen Klopp has made it clear he wants a player who has been integral during the manager’s time at Anfield to see through the club’s bid for a first championship since 1990.

Lallana, who moved to Merseyside from Southampton for £25 million in the summer of 2014, knows he will leave Liverpool on a free transfer when the season is finally completed, but also wants to remain until the final scheduled game against Newcastle United at the end of July. Klopp’s side are two wins from being crowned champions, and it remains to be seen how much Lallana will feature over the remaining nine matches.

The 32-year-old, who is believed to have attracted the interest of Leicester City, will make himself available for every game and remains a key figure in the dressing room.

Yet a feature of the candid conversations with Klopp and owners Fenway Sports Group over the past week has been coming to an understanding that those players who represent Liverpool’s long-term future will be prioritised.

The turnaround between this and the start of 2020-21 campaign will be so short that the coming weeks will also effectively act as a pre-season and the likes of Takumi Minamino, plus teenagers Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott, could be selected ahead of the experienced Lallana.

Should the extension be agreed, it is unlikely to be on the same terms as Lallana’s existing £100,000-a-week deal.

A short-term contract would give Lallana the chance to leave Liverpool as a champion, having already lifted the Uefa Super Cup and Club World Cup this season to go with last year’s Champions League success.

Meanwhile, Nathaniel Clyne has been adhering to his own fitness programme at Liverpool’s academy prior to his release at the end of this month. The right back, available on a free transfer, has spent the past ten months recovering from an ACL injury sustained in pre-season.

I doubt he'll sign for us, imagine he'll probably go to Leicester to link up with Rodgers again. Not sure that wage completely rules us out though. Joe Hart was on more than that at City when we signed him wasn't he?

Probably quite flexible but I think he's predominently right footed, so could be ideal for us.

Not sure about which foot he favours though, it's so long since I saw him play.

Speculation re joining Burnley?
Well he has to join someone, so it might as well be the Mighty Clarets.

I heard Sean was getting ready to cook him an omlette.

For all we know, he may be settled oop north.

Is it too early to be thinking about moving Dwight into the sort of area that Lallana would be playing?

Be surprised if we sign Lallana, i'd have thought his wages would be beyond us for a start.

That's already been said. Hence the Dyche omlette. Sean might be able to persuade him to take a BIG cut.

As FactualFrank said, I think he'll join Leicester.

Can he guarantee him match time?
That is the key Q.

He might, and if Lallana wants to stay in the NW, then there's not many other clubs in that area that i could see being interested, if we could get him fit, he'd be a good addition, but the worry has to be his lack of game time in the last few seasons.

He's also 32, so he's not exactly one for the future, and i'd rather we looked at younger options TBH.

Yes, I know what you mean but Sean has recently said he wants players who can slot straight in and after a Sean Dyche pre season, he could probably do that. He won't just have been sat on his backside at Liverpool.
