Adam Lallana
Daily Mirror reporting Burnley join a list of clubs after him and SD has already spoken with him.

I would imagine very good feedback from Jay Rod on the club won’t do any harm. Salary expectations may be a bit of a headache though.

Now that would be a cracking signing, however I fear Leicester will be his club of choice, both
with his connection with Rodgers who signed him for Liverpool and with the prospect of champions
league on offer,

Re: Adam Lallana
Lallana is actually really good at timing the press on opponents which suits us, he’s a very good player , however wages and realism would suggest he won’t be coming to the Turf.
Signing Jeff up would be a good move mind you.

It's brilliant that we're being linked with players of his ability.
That has been a hallmark of Sean Dyche - he has always looked to improve on what we have and push us forwards. He rarely looks for signings that are simply to make up numbers.

Re: Adam Lallana
Just seems a Dyche type player, but is creative and has quality.
He's 32 now, so injuries might have caught up with him a touch, but he was a quality player if we could get 25 games a season from him.
I don't think he can truly command ridiculous wages, he's hardly played and his injuries/age would be a factor.
Surely he could give us 2 seasons whilst settled up here before moving back down south.
It would certainly be a gamble, and I'm sure we are due one coming off!

32 years old so fits our age profile
Injuries may have caught up with him - anyone remember a guy called Defour
Would fit our wage structure when coming from Liverpool
We might get 25 games out of him if we are lucky
OK Macca you have convinced me

You mean the guy that was technically one of the best players to have played for us and helped drive us to our first European competition in like 50 odd years?
Yeah I remember him.

Re: Adam Lallana
I was going to suggest that Lallana was probably one the Premier League under-achievers
But he’s been at Liverpool for 6 years, recognised in the Premier Leagues Team of the Year, won the Champions League where he played in the final, he played and won in the World Club Final and earned 34 England caps...
Not bad really

Re: Adam Lallana
I think he's an excellent player. But his time at Liverpool has been blighted by injuries and I really don't think we could afford him. Leicester far more likely.

Re: Adam Lallana
Not seen him play much in all honesty, because he is never fit.
I can't see Dyche wanting to sign a 32 year old who is injury prone, earning mega bucks for keeping the physio busy.
The only players we will be signing if any due to the coronavirus, are players for a bargain from the championship.

Re: Adam Lallana
Just to add Lallana has been fit for a good while now and just struggled to get regular game time for an outstanding team.
Wages are a big problem and a 32yr old that's done everything isn't my ideal signing. But he has impressed me everytime I've seen him play.
The energy, the press. He still looks like he wants to prove something.

Also he is/has quality, many if not all of us have seen and his achievements speak for themself.
Not sure we have signed a player with all those things under SD, if ever.
And if you're not happy with an Adam Lallana type playing 25 games in 38 for us, I'd guess you've been majorly unhappy with the likes of Brady, JBG, Hart, Vydra, Lennon, Peiters and Gibson being here and contributing very little.
All about opinions I suppose, but I think he'd be a great addition, the sort of rumour that makes you take notice and wish comes off, well for me it does anyway.

Re: Adam Lallana
Very decent player through his 20s (for Saints & Scouses) Just gone 32 yo, only made 40 leagues appearances in the past (not yet quite) 3 seasons. Around 30 of those appearances as a sub.
Obviously it's a tough task getting into such a good Liverpool team but he's coming towards the end of his career, getting a few injuries and looking for a big salary; not much of chance of us signing him.

Re: Adam Lallana
If he's willing to take a wage cut then he's worth at least considering,he's got an eye for goal and could give us a creative spark.
I addition he can play on the left or the right and that would gives us more options if we're going to have a smaller pool to pick from.
I notice Liverpool have the option of another year though,so is it certain he'll be leaving Anfield yet.

Re: Adam Lallana
Decent player to bring on from the bench but IMO we need more youth and enthusiasm like McNeil. We have enough experienced players already.

Re: Adam Lallana
Are people really dismissing this signing??! He’d improve us immensely. Out of our wage remit though, I’d say.
Re: Adam Lallana
He’d easily improve our quality. Really good player. The type of player 99% of english football fans can’t process the thought of. They want big, strong beefheads.
Re: Adam Lallana
Been fit for most of this season and usually seems to be one of the 3 subs Klopp likes to bring on.
Given that means he’s one of the top 14 players at possibly the best club side in the world I reckon he could just about “do a job” for Burnley !!

Re: Adam Lallana
I remember reading a story on the BBC a few months ago that was saying Lallana will definitely be leaving this summer, and I thought at the time what a fantastic signing he'd be.
He'd have to take quite a wage cut, but if he was willing we'd be daft not to sign him up. Quality player.

Re: Adam Lallana
As much as we should be going for youth Lallana would be a bit of a marquee signing with his experience and ability. Wages may prove to be an issue but after featuring from the bench over the last 3 years he might want first team football. Would be a great addition for us.

Re: Adam Lallana
His performances have been limited simply because he plays for Liverpool, and since joining them, boy have they strengthened their team. Even Milner and Oxlaide Chamberlaine are only part players these days. Lallana would be a super signing. If we have aspirations of staying in the PL we need these type of players

A bit dubious this, but I seem to recall that he and Jack Cork were (are?) best mates. Seem also to recall they used to live next door to each other.
This could be wrong, but not intentional.

Re: Adam Lallana
Not the biggest fan of this idea on basis I’d rather we prioritise youth, the injury record and likely high wages. Could work if salary was linked to games played/available and you don’t play for Liverpool if you’re not a very good player. Spurs and Leicester also interested so can’t see it.
Would prefer Shaqiri at 28. Think there’s going to be some good players becoming available on a free this year. Not least those we’ve been linked with abroad, there’s a few at Man U I seem to remember reading. Feasible we could strengthen quite significantly without any major fee’s, which would be amazing.
Would also like to see us pick off a few young Championship prospects if possible.

Wouldn’t be disappointed by either re-signing. In fact, we need Bardsley! Always feel so safe with him at right back. Could live without Lennon perhaps but feel his pace always offers us something off the bench.

Re: Adam Lallana
With Brady extending his contract, I wouldn't be surprised that Lallana is interested in joining the Clarets. Recall reading an article last year where Brady and Lallana were both recuperating from their long term injuries in Dubai and seemingly they got on famously. Brady may well have 'sold' Burnley to Lallana at that time as would have Dyche when he spoke to Lallana.
Lallana is probably settled with a wife and family in the Merseyside/North West region and Burnley isn't that far away away to travel. As for wages, at 32 years old, it's unlikely he's going to get mega bucks on future contracts.

Re: Adam Lallana
I'd happily re-sign Bardsley he's solid and reliable, rarely misses games through injury, and that's what we need right now, dependable pro's who will roll up their sleeves and get on with it.
Lennon i'm less fussed by,but if we cant get better without throwing the cash then i wouldn't be too disappointed in him staying on.
I think people are going to have to be realistic in their expectations, whatever the fallout from covid-19 is we're unlikely to be splashing out crazy money,if anything we're likely to want to reduce our wage bill if income declines significantly.
The upside is that we might be able to pick up some bargains from the Championship we can mould and develop.

No pace. Fits the bill.
I remember us beating the saints some while back at St Mary's. He came on and turned things round. By no means world class, but bags more technical ability and vision than anyone else in our squad.
