Re: Season restart
If the players can't be in close proximity to each other in the dressing room, then how can they play a game of football ?

Re: Season restart
All home games should be free for season ticket holders. It’s a joke to make everyone sign up for BT, Sky and amazon to watch their team play whilst a lot of people are on 80% of their wage. The premier league and all the clubs are more greedy then ever right now and its shameful. Its scandalous.

Re: Season restart
So there's only one set of changing rooms at the training ground. And the away changing rooms at Turf Moor are too small.
Well, it's pretty obvious then. Burnley players can use their home changing rooms, - the away players can use the changing rooms at Gawthorpe, and we play the game on the M65.

I will take this as a serious rather than a flippant comment - anyone with a remotely informed opinion would understand that is an distinctly improbable notion in the current climate - everyone in the football food chain is feeling the breath of the financial grim reaper at the moment and they are fighting for their survival in many casesthelaughingclaret wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 7:34 pmAll home games should be free for season ticket holders. The gym is enormous. Plenty of space for a temporary change facility. I’ve read today the players will be going home mucky and bathing at home. Not sure how BHA would feel about that? Although there is always a Bong about them. Ask Jay.

If Sky are looking for subscriptions, it will make sense for Sky to select paid-for games from the teams playing to avoid relegation or competing for a place in Europe.
I'm still planning to pay to watch, if I have to. Always cheaper than going to the game/buying away tickets for me.
And, where else can we go, what else can we do and spend money on?

Re: Season restart
Fair play to Sky because all subscribers were able to pause their sports subscription payments for the past few months. Additional free to view games on top of this is a decent gesture albeit also a marketing ploy.
Looking forward to a football fest. It will fill the void that has been left by Euro 2020.
I’m guessing some of the games will be on at the same time? Or will they be staggering them to avoid clashes?

Don’t hold me to that, but I would expect so. At the very least you’ll be able to stream it from a smart tv or on the internet.
Re: Season restart
Looks like most will be staggered, except on last day when they'll all have to be played at the same time.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 9:14 pmFair play to Sky because all subscribers were able to pause their sports subscription payments for the past few months. Re: Season restart
Surely they’ll want the largest viewing figures possible so it’ll be staggered. Friday night, Saturday 3 games, Sunday 3 games and Monday night. Then obviously midweek games similar to where Germany have had two time slots. Happy days!

You text an abusive comment directed to an opposition player and it’s delivered over the PA system in the stadium. Texts cost £1.50. You must be over the age of 18 and have the bill payer’s permission. No Ney Never wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 10:36 pmI'm interested to see what sky are going to do when they say this: 'New Sky Sports digital innovations also planned to enhance fan experience.'

When I worked at BT they were developing software that allowed you to watch on tv from a seat of your choice. Perhaps that might be being trialled.

Re: Season restart
For showers, there's no crowd and they can make sure the cameras are turned off. The warm-down can be in one half of the pitch while they turn the sprinklers on in the other half. Simples!
(If the other team agree to lose, we can even run warm water through the pipes! If they beat us, we turn it off when they're covered in soap.

They had the UCL final in VR. Tried it on my phone and it was really cool.. just a shame about the video not being clearer and the frame rate not jumping all over the place.

Do you remember when Sky tried the idea of giving you the choice of watching from the main camera or behind the goal? That soon disappeared, no one was using it. Even less successful than player cam.cricketfieldclarets wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 10:47 pmWhen I worked at BT they were developing software that allowed you to watch on tv from a seat of your choice. How on earth were you supposed to sit there and say nothing while an opposition fan sat next to you jumped up and screamed as his team scored

I think Socrates did that at a Blackburn v Burnley game, not sure I could have coped sat next to one of their fans while they beat us. The one good thing with these innovations is you could avoid them.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 8:31 amThe worse one was having the 2 fans commentating, was it called fanzone or something like that.

Sure I heard on Five live yesterday that when Aussie rules returns next month down under, they're
gonna pump "crowd sounds" through the stadium speaker systems to try to give an atmosphere.
Maybe something to think about in the PL?
Might be preferable to a deathly silence.
Or complete nonsense?

Pretty sure this has already been discussed and I'm sure some people have posted that they'll be doing this - hope so anyway as otherwise games look like training sessions as you can hear the players shouting to each other.ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 10:15 amSure I heard on Five live yesterday that when Aussie rules returns next month down under, they're
