Blackburn v Burnley, Skysports 8pm

Post by Sutton-Claret » Fri May 29, 2020 12:25 pm

With a distinct lack of re-run games on Sky for any team outside the 'top 6', they've decided to show Rovers v Burnley tonight at 8pm. I'm assuming its the game from 2009 with Coyle as the manager........ not the best game for us but it'll be an excuse to shout at the telly and have a beer or two

If that's the game then I'm happy to let Mrs_W take over the TV to watch the Take That "gig"

That game started so well, and then went rapidly downhill from our POV,summed up the season.

Watching Jensen’s impression of a three year old again?
No thanks.

I might watch it to see how far we have risen and how far they have fallen. I seem to recall them chanting de de de de Owen Coyle oh the irony.

A look at the current respective league positions should give you what you need.

After weighing this up:
pro's -Robbies goal, genuinely believed we would finally do at that point.
Cons- the rest of the match. Genuinely believed I would never see us beat them.

Same. The only thing I need to see now is to defeat them in a topflight game

I might watch up to Robbie’s goal but I’ll sure as hell switch off after that. No chance of me watching.

According to the stats at the time of this game we were sitting 10th in the table - which is where we are now...............

Obviously back then we were batting above our average

I think I'll watch it, I've never seen any of it. I was recovering in Newcastle RVI. My consultant, who worked seven days a week, came to tell me the result. He was a Sunderland fan and the famous beach ball goal happened while I was under his care.

As bfcjg says, any disappointment in losing is mitigated by the fact that we are now indisputably the top club in East Lancashire.

We’d won 4 out of 8 but that was as good as it got with only another 4 wins to come
