Would the Ancient Greeks have...

Post by Pstotto » Mon Jun 01, 2020 4:22 pm

Would the Ancient Greeks have accepted Feminist Theory that a square has only three sides because a girl was once bullied at school for being fat?

In shipbuilding?

Navigation?

Land surveying?

Eating cake?

Mash potatoes?

You wanne bake a cake? :-)

If this were an Oxford Union Ye or Ne debate and the statement was the subject, then that is up to you to decide for the sake of argument.

Undoubtedly.

When observing the constellation of Ursa Major Cassandra the soothsayer of Troy saw that two juxtaposed three sided polygons did indeed make a square.

That was when it ended, is it? That was the decline.

atlantalad, you can cut a square out of a piece of paper, but a piece of paper doesn't make a square.

Two different perspectives Pstotto. You see the square hole cut in the paper. I see the square shaped piece cut out of the paper.

If you were to take said square cut out piece of paper and reinsert it into the square hole, but rotate it through 90 degree along one of its diagonals and look along the plane of the paper - voila- two triangles making a square :)

Would the Ancient Greeks have...

A better track & trace than our 'world-beating' system.

The ancient Greeks - you'd just get buggered and be done with it.

It was a joke about part of Monty Python's the Life of Brian, it's Romans in the movie.
