Josh King
Heavily linked to Chelsea and Man Utd among others why?
Whenever I've seen him he's looked OK at Prem level , but i don't think he's good enough for a top 6 club.
His stats again aren't bad overall for a struggling side, but he's only got 4 PL goals to his name this season, and at 28 isn't likely to improve.
He won't come cheap either he's still got a year on his contract, now obviously if Bournemouth take the drop, then his value might diminish, but i'd have thought the likes of Chelsea and United would have better options to chase.
Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser are the pair i'd expect to move on this summer regardless of whether the Cherries survive or not.
Maybe this covid crisis is impacting the bigger clubs more than we're aware, and they're having to adjust their shopping lists, don't know if that's good news for Burnley or not.

I imagine the scouts, data analysts and people who know him behind the scenes might have a bit more information on him than you.

Re: Josh King
46 goals in 154 appearances, according to Wikipedia. A reasonable return for a club like Bournemouth, but also isn't exactly a phenomenal return. Like you say, surprising if one of the bigger clubs are genuinely interested.

Re: Josh King
Saw him at Leicester and he looked a handful. Dont think he has been over played by Eddy , but I actually see quite a player there in the right team if played regularly. He is not someone defenders will relish playing against-as per our Ash !!

Re: Josh King
Remains to be seem how foreign players can be brought from abroad this summer with different lockdown levels in different countries, and all uk arrivals having to quarantine for 2 weeks. Could mean the big clubs will buy more british players then usual.

Would take far more than that to get "Dyche Fit" and playthelaughingclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 6:03 pmRemains to be seem how foreign players can be brought from abroad this summer with different lockdown levels in different countries, and all uk arrivals having to quarantine for 2 weeks. Sounds like that's an opportunity for a hotel with a well equipped gym and other training facilities (and golf course) to put themselves forward for footballers' quarantine centre of choice.thelaughingclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 6:03 pmRemains to be seem how foreign players can be brought from abroad this summer with different lockdown levels in different countries, and all uk arrivals having to quarantine for 2 weeks. Re: Josh King
Big mistake buying a striker from an Eddie Howe team. His sides always play on front foot and strikers get a flattering amount of chances due to this,

Quarantine now being questioned/challenged so 14 day rule might not last very long.

Man Utd tried to sign King in January. He was desperate to go but Bournemouth wouldn’t sanction the move.tiger76 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 5:24 pmHeavily linked to Chelsea and Man Utd among others why?

Re: Josh King
Never knew he was a former Utd youth player until tonight.
Oh and Stats wise he's not really any better than Chris Wood, according to the PL site.

Do you remember him playing for Blackburn on the Turf and giving Tripps a 10 yard start in a race and still beat him by 10 yards. And Tripps isn't slow.

Re: Josh King
I think I am correct in saying Solskjaer was his youth team coach at United.
Re: Josh King
One of the reasons I was concerned Wood might go in January. For all his negatives (offsides, missed chances) I think he'd do well as a sub striker for some of the higher teams and when a few were on the hunt (United, spurs) they could have done a whole lot worse than our Chris. Luckily they prefer players with foreign sounding names and big price tags.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 10:42 pmNever knew he was a former Utd youth player until tonight.

Re: Josh King
Regarding Ryan Fraser, he isn't signing a contract extension to see the season out and says he won't take part in anymore matches for Bournemouth.
Obviously isn't keen on picking up an injury (if he isn't already) and jeopardising his big move.

Fraser came out not so long ago saying he hadn’t tried hard enough and would be trying harder and was committed to the end of the season did he not?

Re: Josh King
King is an ok Premier League striker but top 6?... not so sure. Having said that, if United are getting the likes of Ighalo, I can see why they are interested in King!!
Re: Ryan Fraser, I was surprised how bad he was against us down at their place. He's a very good player but he just seemed to have downed tools in his final contract year. Personally, if I were looking to get a nice signing on fee somewhere I would have tried to play out of my skin to make those big clubs get out the wallet for my terms!

Re: Josh King
Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been replaced as captain by James Ward-Prowse.
Hojbjerg, 24, has repeatedly been linked with a move away from the club and recently expressed a desire to play in the Champions League.
The Denmark international, signed from Bayern Munich in 2016, has just over 12 months left on his contract.
England midfielder Ward-Prowse will take over as captain for the remainder of the 2019-20 season.
Speaking at a press conference prior to the resumption of the Premier League, Hasenhuttl said: "No, he [Hojbjerg] will not be captain.
"We had an agreement, and made clear that if you decide not to extend your contract, you will not be captain of this team.
"He knows that he is an important player for this club. I think we have found a good agreement."
Hojbjerg has made more than 100 Premier League appearances for Southampton.
Decisive management by Hasenhuttl, and you can't argue with him, if the player's making noises about wanting away, he's hardly captain material is he.
What will be interesting is whether he is included in their line-up for the remaining games, it sounds like he will be, but clearly the manager wants to send a message to the dressing room, and quite rightly in my view.
