Summer clarets..

Post by benbfc » Thu Jun 04, 2020 10:19 pm

For those born in the summer months watching a Burnley game on your birthday was an impossibility.. This year, and probably the only time in my life we play in June and July.

For me, the Watford game has luckily fallen on my birthday, a true once in a lifetime occurance... Just a shame we can't be there to watch it in person!

We played in July during our European adventure, but you do raise an interesting aside to the disruption.

Hope your birthday brings us luck, and 3 points.

Have we ever played in June? I suspect so, but probably only in friendlies.

True, Aberdeen was a good day or so out in July!! I sometimes get world cup games or European champs but seem to be unlucky with rest days as it hovers as the group stages end and the knockout starts

When we played at Aberdeen it meant we’d played a competitive game in every calendar month. The only game previously played in June was at Millwall on 7th June 1947. The season finished late because of the severe winter.

Having an early July birthday has meant I’ve never seen us play A game on my birthday, and I never had a party on my actual birthday as we were always away on holiday :(

My birthday was always around the first game of the season. But now it’s about 2nd or 3rd game.
