I know we took a vote before but wondered whether it is worth re visiting. Can't help but feel football and non football topics separated would be easier for people to go to areas that interest them more easily.

I'm sure the majority wanted politics to clear off onto another board.

Prefer the current format. Keeps the forum busy. It’s clear which threads are football and which are not. If you don’t like non football ones don’t go into them.

I agree now. The vote was taken during the season, when it was packed with footy posts too.

But at the moment, we need more threads on non-football things as well, so agree it's fine the way things are currently.

Due to recent events we may have to rename the board to be more inclusive though.

I propose, Up The Clarets Rovers Stanley Muslim All Blacks.

No need to change to the style of the forum, a democratic vote has taken place previously.

I think perhaps that what is needed more, is for one or two people to really think about whether they should be posting at all.

Sums up my view perfectly .... a dead forum with no posts for days. or only one or two contributors, is a sad sight !

We have all shades of opinion on here from left to right, liberal to conservative, sensible to border-line loons, Hendrick lovers and Hendrick critics, the ever sunny optimism of Davemanu to the " we're doomed " brigade, and the so called " Happy Clappers " to those for whom our Board can do nothing right .... long may that continue !! :D

If I remember right the thread had a majority vote for the politics to be in a separate section but was never changed.

It’s easy to self filter the threads to avoid. I like the randomness of it all and it would be mistake to take that away. Let the people who never listen to each other or agree on anything crack on talking about divisive subjects. You know what to expect before you open a thread most of the time.

I prefer this style. I like the spontaneity of the topics, I prefer to just check in on the messageboard to see what’s happening on all sorts of stuff - rather perusing different rooms trying to find something interesting too read.

Anything I’m not interested in like cricket, horse racing or that spot the ball thread, I just ignore.

Also (hypothetically) I like watching threads about obscure former players from the 80’s somehow turn into off-topic political debates.

Well I agree with the OP. 2 separate areas would be better but I don’t think it’ll change.

Definitely prefer the current layout, The last time the subject was brought up we had no football to talk about, people were
bored and turned the board into a 'My opinion is better than yours' political slanging match ..
There are some interesting and informative non-football threads that would be missed and in less than two weeks we will have
games so we can talk about them ...
It will be strange and different for a lot of us , but I wonder if more people will agree more on things as we will all be seeing things
from the same angle ..

The only issue with everything on the same page is that any thread, football related or not, soon gets pushed off the page by the new threads. Then it's a case of out of sight out of mind.

There was a poll on the board but it was not a vote with a winner and loser, more to gauge opinion.

There was certainly nothing in the result to justify making any change.

Others forums are reducing the number of sub forums on their sites, some of them have so little traffic its not worth their while, this board is perfect as it is,please dont change it.

Leave as is.

What comes along, comes along. Look, look and respond, avoid.
Works for all topics.

The majority opted for politics to be moved to a different forum didn't they? I feel if a majority wants that then it should be what happens.

Don't get at all why moving it to its own forum wouldn't make sense, or effect traffic.

I personally prefer the talk of football here than politics, and I feel politics is contributing to a lot of the bullying that happens in other threads. By separating it I feel it would cut down on that.

Leave it as it is.....the randomness is excellent and mirrors a good night out in the pub with mates where conversation moves across a wide range of topics.I don't want to be having to log on to 2 different forums either.

To be honest it was virtually 50/50. There was nothing from the poll to suggest a change should be made.

I’ll be honest though. Most of the problems I have to deal with come from political type threads.
