At a time when we're so divided, it's beautiful to see something like this to unite us.

You’d think after the hundreds of millions the Venkys have spunked on the club, a few grand for the supporters wouldn’t make much difference...

They are a Club with owners holding a bottomless pit of money too... a sad state of affairs of we might see with a lot of local clubs.

I think it’s a fair statement though, I don’t know what else they can do?

Do I feel their pain?
Like **** I do.
A rovers fan I briefly worked with a few years ago told me they were preparing street parties the day we played Orient in 'that' game.
As I say **** 'em. :D :D

Sunderland tried something along these lines until someone pointed out that it was illegal - then of course they found out hey were not going to play the rest of the season out. The wording is careful, though leading, but does not remove the right of refund. As it happens their have been a few posts about their financial situation in the last week on the MMT thread

Absolutely gutted for Rovers and their fans ,I hope they can sort their money problems out.. No team deserves to go bankrupt due to this Virus.. Im sure their fans will make the sacrifice to keep the Rovers afloat..I know we would if in the same predicament as them.

I wouldn't say i'm gutted, but i don't want them to go bust, i agree with a comment further up the thread, if they're 130m+ in debt how will this money keep them afloat, i can't imagine refunds will be that much out of their budget surely.

Unless things really are bad along the M65, but we need them to stay in business, as we want to keep our current unbeaten run going for some while to come.

Yes CV will impact all clubs, but clubs such as ours who are sensibly run will be better placed to weather the storm.

If there is a fire sale at Ewood, is there anybody worth taking a punt on?, Dack's an obvious one, but he's recovering from a long-term injury, so he'd be a gamble unless the price was right.

Where's Saxo these days? his input would have been invaluable.

Millionaire owners paying millionaire players still but not refunding fans who could be on the breadline. Really nice of them.

Nah.
Even the thickest knuckle-draggers down Deadwood have twigged, if there's no Venkys, there's no Rovers.

I'm taking nothing for granted. That lot could still end up in the Premier League next season and with Venky's virtually unlimited resources and their financial backing they could do ok.
People might have forgotten that they're just 3 points off a play off spot with a superior GD.

Venky's obviously have no shame. Stuffing mediocre footballers mouths with gold while pocketing the 'short-change' from their fans.

They were queuing up on the L.E.T comments section to slag our club off over the none payment of zero-hour matchday staff. Now they have their own money issues to worry about. Season ticket prices to watch some crappy livestream. LMAO.

Maybe, but with a decent manager and potentially access to more funds than us I wouldn't take that for granted.
Of course it's possible that if they get PL money then Venkys might want their money back (rather than investing further) - but they don't need it.

I'm sorry if this on the Magic Money Tree thread - or elsewhere - but have other Championship clubs followed suite i.e. no refunds?

Whilst I can fully understand L1 and L2 clubs not having the cash to refund their ST holders, I believe TV money represents an average of around 80% for most Championship clubs. It strikes me that some sort of effort could be made (not just by Rovers).

PNE have just announced they will not be issuing refunds but will provide live streaming.

A lot of people who support Blackburn will feel that their own finances are down to zero or even below. Be interesting to see if they see a club owned by millionaires is of more deserving than their own families.
