At the end of the day, Mike Rigg just doesn’t like hooped socks, and he’s the boss.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we see some kind of remake of the V strip from the 70s. That was Umbro too wasn’t it?
Re: New Kits 20/21
Wasn’t it the white Super League kit that we got promoted in under Ternent?
We also did one for 2015/16 season in which the yellow kit was voted for.

£10m sponsorship is a lot of shirts! I don't think 4 would cut it. I do get the point though.jackmiggins wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2020 11:50 am20/21 shirt with no sponsor (other than possibly NHS emblem and £5 extra cost to be donated to charity) and I’d buy four.

The clubs commercial side "coming soon " is the same as Mr Dyche's "touch and go" for the playing side...

Re: New Kits 20/21
Are we keeping the 3rd kit for next season? Still at full price in the club shop which is unheard for this point in a season.
I wouldn’t be against it - I think it’s a great kit.

Agree, it's a brilliant strip. I've been waiting for the price to drop to buy one but it looks like I might have to wait a while longer.

I really have no idea - I've been locked away for the last four months so not had any opportunity to find out this year.Crewe claret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 1:52 pmAny clues on style Tony as it's the centenary of the 1st division winners season

I still think that goalies should wear the same socks as the rest of the team.

Re: New Kits 20/21
Why are we wearing a white kit?
The green 3rd kit was perfectly fine when we played at Villa

Re: New Kits 20/21
Is that our new away kit???
Re: New Kits 20/21
Looks like that’s next season’s third kit!
Re: New Kits 20/21
Darren Bentley is alluding that it’s last years third kit (it can’t be as it’s made by a different manufacturer) and is being worn as all three of our kits clash with West Ham.

Re: New Kits 20/21
Well that’s ********
We wore the green shirt at Villa so what’s the difference there?
Re: New Kits 20/21
Sorry, it was a supporter who was saying it’s lasts years kit rebadged with Bentley explaining it was a one off due to all three clashing.
With the green kit, my only thoughts are that West Ham wear dark shorts and socks at home this season which could cause a clash with the black shorts and green socks we’d wear with the green kit. Saying that, short clashes are allowed in the Premier League. Weird one.

Re: New Kits 20/21
If that is a shirt for next season then it is bloody awful. We had plain white along with a black one a few years ago and they didn't resemble a bfc kit in anyway. That shirt above just lacks imagination. At least add a hint of claret and blue to it.

Could we not have worn the short sleeved grey goalie kit?

I'd like to propose we change the yellow badge border to claret on any none claret kit too

Re: New Kits 20/21
So the clash must be either do with the West Ham goalie kit (unlikely they only have one), or the best one I have seen on Twitter where someone has suggested because it is on Live TV we can't wear green as colour blind people won't be able to make our kit out.
All seems a bit bizarre to me!!!!

Re: New Kits 20/21
Do not like it at all. Think these Umbro kits look cheap, lazy designs, no real quality or imagination. This years aren’t bad by any means - clean and simple - but when you look at some of the things Nike & Adidas are throwing out for other clubs it does make me envious.
Re: New Kits 20/21
Nike and Adidas have their ‘elite’ level clubs that they have bespoke designs for. The rest of their designs for Football League clubs really lack imagination and look cheap.NewClaret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 11:21 pmDo not like it at all. ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Jun 14, 2020 4:04 pmWould be nice although they had to be pushed into having the 50th anniversary kit in 2009/10. Some senior staff decided they would change the colour of the shorts. When I found that out I asked Kilby to intervene which he did. I still think they were fantastic kits.
Was that the 'Cooke' one?
Re: New Kits 20/21
Yeah,Caballo, the Cooke one. Both home and away kits for that season were great. My faves since were the Dafabet home and away. Just wish we had an Adidas bespoke one preferably with hoop socks

Re: New Kits 20/21
They were the ones - it was in Belfast for the pre-season friendly in 2008 when I took the chance to ask Barry Kilby about the possibility and he said he'd fully support the idea. Then, one day I was told at the club that they'd decided to go with sky blue shorts instead of black for the away kit which would then have meant it wasn't a replica. By chance, I saw the chairman outside, told him and by the following day it was back to black.
It was the away kit we saw used first at Bradford City in a pre-season friendly. I know the badges were a bit too big on them but I thought they looked absolutely brilliant, both kits.
I remember telling Jimmy Mac they were going to be playing in replica kits. He laughed and asked if they'd be wearing the same kind of boots he played in.
Re: New Kits 20/21
Yellow or white away kits are my preference. Do not like the green one.

Re: New Kits 20/21
True. Wasn’t really suggesting we’d ever be able to flog enough nylon to bag either of them, just a nice thought.
Puma is the best middle ground, in my opinion. Bring them back.

Re: New Kits 20/21
Just wondering if anyone had heard any more on release date?
I’m getting hassled for birthday present ideas for my son and usually there’s a new kit on the list. Was going to call the club today but was too busy.

They said last week that it was “coming soon” but based on the timescales used for the refunds that could mean next January

I like the white kit,
Not a fan of hooped socks, for me playing in hooped socks is a psychological thing, it's hard to explain.
