He wont feature in any of their remaining games and has been told to stay away from the training ground. Isnt Dael Fry the one we're interested in ?

Re: Transfer rumours: Tarkowski
Tarks will go: likely to a northern club, I’d say Newcastle
Taylor: Chelsea or Leicester for me
Dwight: Newcastle/Arsenal/Leicester/Wolves - I’d love for him to get a move back to United. United can’t afford to keep releasing players for big money ala Pogba, questions would be asked!
Pope: Chelsea and I think this will be the first transfer out of the club
Taylor: Chelsea or Leicester for me

If he goes for that, then we must be in a desperate situation money wise, as that's half what he should be going for.

You think we'll sell four of our best players this summer - and you'd love our best player to move to United? Weird.Danieljwaterhouse wrote: ↑Tue Jun 16, 2020 11:17 pmTarks will go: likely to a northern club, I’d say Newcastle

I would suggest that £18 for Tarks is NOT half of what he is worth, more like a quarter !!

Re: Transfer rumours: Tarkowski
Hate to see him go as he is immense for us. One thing Burnley is good at is getting top dollar for their players. £18m can get you a dud if you are unlucky. He has to be worth between £40m-£50m even in this economic climate, maybe even more

Re: Transfer rumours: Tarkowski
If any of them go, and I don’t think the club will have to sell, it should really be Tarkowski. Pope is a top goal keeper and has a presence which we will find particularly hard to replace as he catches every cross and BPF won’t be ready for the 1st team yet. McNeil is going to be too good to sell now because he’s going to increase in value over the next year as he keeps improving. Taylor similar in that he will be worth much more once people from outside Burnley realise how good he is. Tarkowski we could get 40-50M for and that would put us in a comfortable position financially to buy a replacement and dip into the championship market which will be particularly cheap this summer. If we have to sell, it’s got to be Tarkowski IMO although you could make an argument for Pope (Chelsea were interested - and we know how much money they are willing to spend on goalkeepers).

I have heard that all our players are still with us.

BPF is 23 cost a few million, played for our dear friends at Leeds for the best part of a couple of years, has 13 caps at international level (OK for Northern Ireland but has looked OK).
Can someone explain why he isn't yet ready? To be even Burnley's second choice keeper? If that is the case why was he ever signed?

His career does look quite a lot like Nick Pope's. Is that a worry?Petersa wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 1:39 pmBPF is 23 cost a few million, played for our dear friends at Leeds for the best part of a couple of years, has 13 caps at international level (OK for Northern Ireland but has looked OK).

Instead of saying "not yet ready to be Burnley's second choice keeper", why not put it as "not yet as good as Joe Hart". Then it might not seem so bad.
Re: Transfer rumours: Tarkowski
I'm not sure many big money transfers will go ahead this summer/January window. I believe they'll be a bit of trading going on - swaps, or clubs taking over a player's contract etc.
Re: Transfer rumours: Tarkowski
I don't think anyone outside of Burnley will think Tarky is worth some of the ridiculous figures being quoted on here. If we decide to hold onto him we'll be in exactly the same position next summer, only everyone will know he's into the final year of his contract and we'll be looking to sell.

Re: Transfer rumours: Tarkowski
I didn’t say that at all: I am saying they’re our four major assets.
We will be required to sell at least one of them I would think to ensure Dyche has the funds to reinvest into the squad or at worst balance the books.
I would want Dwight to go back to United, it’s a huge club and he could be amazing there. I don’t profess to know his intentions but who could turn that down, particularly when they released him.
I do think Newcastle are going to spend big, and they will be looking at players like Tarks who can bridge the gap into players who want to ply in Europe every year. Akin to what City had to do before they made the perm step up into the top 4.
I think Lampard has an eye on an English GK, he obviously wants a British spine and the best one out there fitting the bill is Pope.
Taylor is the next best thing to Chilwell, if he won’t move or Leicester price him out, why wouldn’t you go for the next best?

Re: Transfer rumours: Tarkowski
Your post suggested that all four would be on their way. Obviously the chances are that all four will move on at some point, most probably to bigger things, but I can't remember the last time that we had a fire-sale. We're as strong as we've ever been financially, despite the current pandemic and whilst we may need to sell one of our biggest assets to bridge a gap I can't see it being any more than one. I also think that the current situation may dictate a much less active transfer window and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if we start next season with all four of those players on our books.Danieljwaterhouse wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 3:41 pmI didn’t say that at all: I am saying they’re our four major assets.

As for wanting Dwight to go to Manchester United, that seems like crazy talk to me. Surely you want him to stay?

Of course I would want him to stay, but as with the others and with Dyche I will be happy to see them go on to bigger clubs and to achieve things we couldn’t offer them.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 3:50 pmYour post suggested that all four would be on their way. For Dwight that’s United, a genuine left footed winger with trickery would be idolised at OT

Re: Transfer rumours: Tarkowski
Remarkable how situations can turn on their head in a short period of time. Just ten weeks or so ago, first week in April, Mike Garlick said that if the season was curtailed at that point with no new date set for the start of next season, Burnley would run out of money by August.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 3:50 pmYour post suggested that all four would be on their way. Were we unlucky with the £18m dud we picked up?warksclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2020 12:16 pmHate to see him go as he is immense for us. Or was it because Mawson gave back word on his transfer and we moved down our target list. Perhaps time constraints (end of the window) contributed to the due diligence not being at the level required. Might even have led to some behind the scenes fall outs 'cos as we know if we spend big (and such a figure is big to us), we expect more than a red card, dismal performances 5 goals conceded against a mid-table moderate team and a shite and disruptive attitude at training.
Not that I'm privy to club information and I haven't been to the pub in ages to pick up useful titbits from the plethora of sources usually available there.
