From what I gather the issues at club will be put in sharp focus when the line-up for tonight is announced.
Fine. If that focus is that we can't put 9 on the bench then good. It will show that we are well run, who had loads of younger lads out on loan. Absolutely right that all of the players that are leaving are, especially with covid dominating matters.

I am assuming of course that we will be bringing in suitable younger replacements in the next window.

Are we playing tonight? I've looked at the Table and upcoming fixtures in The Times (print) this morning. Fixtures only show games from Tuesday onwards, no mention of a game tonight!

Sean will be a little more relaxed after this w/ends fixtures and other news. Commentators suggesting 36 points will be enough for Premier League status next season. Tony Cascarino writing about Ryan Frazer owing his Bournemouth team mates a Last Dance like Michael Jordan. Sean will know that the grass isn't greener elsewhere.

Neither of the managers you have mentioned warrant even an interview. Done nothing to deserve a shot at a Premier League job.
Are you serious?

Duff or Barton would totally understand the ethos here now, and would warrant at least a chance at interview.

Fat Sam should be no where near though, for that I am certain.

The grass looks a lot greener at other clubs but unfortunately for those who are attracted by the how green these places look-after only a little bit of inclement form/weather it turns a dirty brown for the incumbent manager who 9/10 gets kicked into the long grass.
Few of our ex-managers have had a lengthy period in top flight management after they left us. I can only think of Howe (and he has only done 5 years so far), Brown and Britton. Potts didn't do much at Blackpool, Adamson lasted about 4 years, and nuff said about Coyle. Cotts has never managed in the top flight I don't think.

I'm pretty sure Eddie Howe has done about 2 weeks longer in his second spell as manager of Bournemouth and Sean Dyche has been managing Burnley. I'd hazard a guess that Howe will remain at Bournemouth if/when they go down. Would be interesting - and I'm sure Sean Dyche will also be watching - if Howe is in demand for another Premier League club if/when Bournemouth are relegated.

Let's hope we manage to garner enough players together to fill the subs bench (9 isn't it?).

Since SD is reluctant to use subs anyway probably a luxury he could do without. ;)

other than losing Wood to injury the only other person who would start normally is Hendrick, as good as he has been for us he is no world beater - I for one would much prefer to see Brownhill for 9 games and give him time to get up to speed when the pressure is relatively off the team in terms of a relegation threat. We probably wont get anything tonight, a strong City team with Andre "can't wait to give big teams a penalty" Mariner in charge will see to that, but we can pick up plenty of points in other games to finish mid 40 points I feel.

I've been assuming that since July 2018. It's the hope that kills you.

I'd agree with that. It's so amateurish it's untrue. Absolutely pathetic we've ended up in this situation.

Sean should be ashamed if himself for that bench. The Board are right not to be blackmailed into giving out long contracts to players that would not have been offered but for covid.

And why would players sign for an extra month with no guarantees of another contact , amateurish board yet again

On the other hand, why would the club offer long contracts to Lennon, Hart or Legzdins. To pay them something in the millions just because our subs' bench is short would be ridiculous.

We've played this season with a first team squad (leaving out Legzdins) of 21. Tonight's first XI, Long and Pieters on the bench, plus injured Wood, Barnes, Brady, Gudmondsson, plus happy-to-take-the-wage-but-won't-play Hendrick, Hart, Lennon, Bardsley. It's been enough, and there have been few complaints until these extraordinary circumstances.

I do wonder if this is going to be the "new normal". I have never heard in previous seasons of any club, relegation threatened or not, suffering a mass walkout of five of its players with three games left of their contracts because they are frightened of getting hurt. How early in the season will it be considered reasonable for them to clear off? And how much of their salary will they forfeit?
