Re: Today's Football
Leeds only need a couple of wins from their remaining 9 games to seal promotion, due to the rest being so poor, and think one of them will be today. It wouldn't surprise me if the remaining 3 games were all draws.

Re: Today's Football
Yes 2 home wins so far, bucking the trend from earlier in the week, it's early doors yet, but home advantage does seem to be annulled with no crowds, we'll have to wait for a couple of completed rounds of matches to get a better idea, the data is too scarce to make an assessment yet, especially in the PL, both City on Wednesday, and Newcastle today played against 10 men for a large portion of the game, and i think they're 2 of only 3 home wins in the top flight thus far, and the Championship saw a stream of away successes yesterday.
Figures so far in the PL read as follows, 3 home wins, 3 draws, and 3 away wins, Championship's 2 home wins, 4 draws, and 6 away wins, so from those limited numbers it tends to suggest the home advantage is minimal if it's even an advantage at all.

Is he even eligible? this article suggests nothttps://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/ ... -18057158 that's a couple of months old, so things may have changed, but according to that, teams can't make changes to their January lists, even with these unique circumstances.

Chelsea are good enough with 11.
Re: Today's Football
I'd written Villa off but after seeing how poor West Hsm and Bournemouth were yesterday they've still got a chance.

Would love Villa and West Ham to both go down - seems unlikely though, as Bournemouth and Norwich look nailed on.

Re: Today's Football
Typical Chelsea display, dominate the play, miss chances ,and then concede a soft goal, they're so predictable.
Could be a big 3 points for Villa, but plenty of time left yet.

Re: Today's Football
I’m hoping Villa win this and manage to stay up, mainly for our Tom’s sake but also I have a bit of a soft spot for them. Something to do with the claret and blue kit, they’ve got a terrific traditional stadium and great support.
Right, wait while I get my tin hat.

Re: Today's Football
Can't be many players that can boast of scoring in all 4 divisions in England, maybe one of the Bournemouth players at a guess.
Kortney Hause has now scored in each of the top four divisions in England. He scored for Wycombe Wanderers in League Two, for Gillingham in League One and for Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Championship.
Could be a good quiz question in future years.

Re: Today's Football
Vardy and perhaps Charlie Austin were the 2 that spring to my mind, might be best to start another thread, if you want to continue this debate, don't want to divert from the main topic, but there is probably more than you imagine once you start digging.
Re: Today's Football
Be amazing if villa somehow get 4 points from the 2 games since the restart. It is going to get tighter and tighter at the bottom. As I type the yank equalizes

If Burnley were to win on Monday, would denying Man City the 3 points mean Liverpool are champions?

Watching Legia Warsaw v Slask Wroclaw (on Freesports HD) with supporters in the stadium, not many maybe 2-3000 but making lots of noise. Legia 2-0 up.

Re: Today's Football
Yet another defeat for a team at the bottom, does anybody seriously think 3 teams are going to overhaul Burnley, even in the incredibly unlikely scenario of us not collecting another point this term, i hope we can knock any talk of relegation on the head now, and try and enjoy these last 9 games.
The big winners this weekend are Brighton, for the 1st time there's a slight gap opening up between them and the bottom 5, not enough to be comfortable, but i heck of a lot more secure then they were a couple of days ago.
And yet another away win.

I thought it was looking good for a while, Chelsea dominated possession throughout but wasn't sure they'd actually score. Once they got that equalizer they were always going on to win it though.
Re: Today's Football
With regards to tonight's game they are wrong when they say Liverpool hope to win the title at Anfield on Wednesday.
Have they no faith in us beating Man City because if we do they only need to beat Everton to win the league

Re: Today's Football
To clear up any confusion, if City lose or draw tomorrow night, then a Liverpool win over Palace on Wednesday will give them the title.
